I returned the used Rusty Cooley 8 string and got a BRAND NEW ONE!!! I must say I'm glad I did smile.gif On the last one, it looked some somebody had hacked at the nut with a dull knife to make it take larger strings and it WRECKED the intonation. sad.gif

The new one has no such problems and it plays AMAZING!!! I can't believe it plays as well as it does. Rusty really nailed the design on this. The shaped lower horn, the thin neck. the AANJ style neck joint, etc. Built to shred smile.gif

The stock EMGs were a concern but they have ALNICO 5 magnets which I love and they sound spiff in this wood!! I think I"m gonna keep it stock smile.gif

It's in standard tuning smile.gif The 7th string is like a regular 7 so low B and the 8th is standard at low F#.
So it's just down in fiths like the other strings smile.gif I rarely do alternate tunings as I don't need it much with a 7 or 8 string guitar. &th is great for power chords and the 8th is mostly single note djent stuff.
