That was very nice take Sken!! smile.gif

However I might have few advices.
First, you should REALY play more with your pinky.
There are many bends in this lessons
and every time you've done bend using middle finger,
just because your fingering has made it that way.
Use more pinky and you'll have your ring finger ready for bends!
And for tapping part, each first note(tap note) for each chord
should be on first beat in bar, focus more on that and you'll have it damn soon,
good work! smile.gif

Thanks guys, and thank you Muris for the advice smile.gif Yes, my pinkie and my picking technique are two of the things I'm really focussing on right now. I'll keep at it and show any progress. Thanks again!

I think you did a great job on this peice smile.gif When I showed it to my wife she couldn't beleive that you have only been playing for 1 year. And she is right! You should be very proud of where your playing is at after 1 year. Your not just picking the notes either. Your using a nice vibrato here and there to give the note a meaning.

I can't wait to hear what you sound like this time next year wink.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Hi

That was very good and unbelieveble you have gotten that far so quick. smile.gif

You seem to play with feeling, but the only real problem was the tapping part, but that´s just a little timing issue like Muris said. Are you going to post another video when you have gotten the tapping part down?

And by the way, cool and unusual looking guitar you got there. smile.gif Is it an Ibanez?

Thanks Skillet smile.gif I have spent this first year not trying to be the fastest and knowing all the techniques, but trying to learn only few and use them effectively. I know my limits and try to stay right on the edge. I do push myself on harder lessons though just to get use to the feel. smile.gif

@ Gilmore, thanks man, I do plan on doing another when I can nail it! About the guitar, yeah, a little unusual laugh.gif I was wanting A Jackson DK2M that runs about $599. They have the H-S-H set up and the p/up's are Duncan Designed which I would have changed. I ran across this guitar as a factory 2nd which has a little chip that's hardly noticeable. These are special runs from Jackson that have the EMG 81/85 combo installed at the factory with a routed battery box. Shipped to my door for $619 I must say, I'm pretty happy with it. smile.gif

Man 1 year? Dude..If your take isn't proof positive what GMC can do I don't know what is. I thought that take was awesome.
Yes, there are areas you need to improve. I think they are more "advanced" type skills and I have been trying to learn them myself and they are not easy. I have developed so many bad habits over the years its been tough to break them only to play correctly.

For what its worth man I thoguht you did a wonderful job. smile.gif Im glad you found a passion that is the guitar. Noone can tell me anything is better. Hobby that is.. tongue.gif

damn. 1yr.

Well done man.

You are gonna be an absolutely AMAZING player inside of 3 more years if you keep going at that pace.

And once again let me say that I LOVE that guitar. My DK2M is next to me right now. Great guitar. Even if mine is just plain white....

Damn Skennington!!! I had no idea you had only been playing for a year. I thought you had only been a member of GMC for a year. When I see how much you have progressed it makes me embarrassed that I am not better than I am since I have been playing for almost 20 years laugh.gif laugh.gif Good job man. I am hoping to do an SI lesson on tapping and sweeping etc. Maybe it'll give you some more ideas. Keep rocking dude!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
