I love listening to Jazz music and transcribing solos by ear. I am a big fan of old school approach. I would listen to song and solos for million times, sing them, lock everything in my ear, think about individual phrases (where does each phrase start and end on or of the beat) and then I would apply all that knowledge on the guitar.

I have been listening to a lot of Michael Brecker (as usual since he is one of my biggest influences). I was listening to Flying High that comes from McCoy Tyner Trio & Michael Brecker Infinity album. Listened to that song like 50 times already and started playing by ear, already learned the first solo.

Here is a video of that first solo. I hope to do all the solos on that track and sometime in future upload a full song on Youtube. It is really worth studying and analyzing what Brecker and McCoy were doing. Great stuff!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

I will try to post some more Brecker solos in future in this thread. It is a life long project of a sort for me, never ending learning curve if you will smile.gif

POD X3 LIVE
I modified some effect I did before and changed distortion. It works perfectly now for lots of different styles, especially Jazz soloing where you need all notes to sound clear smile.gif
