Hey guys, You know a good free antivirus program?

I think I'm going for Antivir, the free version. Any suggestions?

I've tried Avir and found it just irritating, I also tried AVG and it was good but I think avast! is the most efficient one of the three free antivirus programs.
I'm running on avast! now.

I've been using AVG free for years, so far I'm happy with it, maybe there are better ones out there though.

I use COMODO but it's just a firewall, not exactly and antivirus...

I think they could work together.

No doubt, but two antiviruses at the same time will problaby melt your PC tongue.gif
Well, not really. But it would use an unnessicary amount of resources tongue.gif

I use AVG as well. Version 7 was a bit better, not in terms of better dealing with viruses, but it was simpler. Now in version 8, they have built in a lot of new features, which I keep turned off, all except antivirus. I must say I had about 10 attacks since I installed AVG 8 and all of them were handled successfully, so it's good enough for me. Never had any problems with it.

Other than that I use Spybot Search&Destroy which is a great free antispyware software, and Zone Alarm, again freeware, and a very decent firewall. It is completely automated, but you can tweak all the advanced features if you want. I never had any problems with any of these software, they deal with malicious software very effectively.
