Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Christopher,

This is a beautiful composition and you have played it with your own style which is really good. Your style is different to the original lesson which is more neoclassical but it doesn't mean that your solo is not ok. Your technique is very precise and your vibrato wide and expressive.

However, I feel that there is still room to make your playing even more expressive here, maybe with more aggressive bends, picking, and even vibrato. Again, your playing is great, but I think that you can connect even more with the melody instead of being so focused on being technically correct. Does it make sense?

Keep on rocking!

Hey there!
I think Gab has a good point here and yes, it makes sense to me for example smile.gif You showed us there is a huge potential in your hands. You've got good vibrato skills and efficient bends + what's most important your control of dynamics is very descent. From technical point of view there was a moment or two where you've lost one note from the particular phrase. A few notes where a little out of pitch as well. One tip to improve what Gab was about is to let notes ring longer. You make a very visible split/break between phrases while in the original lesson (not only because of delay amount) phrases are "glued" tighter. That's probably one of the steps to get it to another level smile.gif Well done anyway!

Hi Christopher, I always get excited when I see somebody cover this track.

You've got a nice choice of tone which really comes out on those bends and heavy vibrato notes.

The main issue I have is that I wish you could have held onto some of those bent notes for longer. I've played this lesson before and know that those parts are very challenging for one's finger strength - but it's worth working on so that you can make that musical choice to let a bent note ring rather than let it down due to a lack of finger strength.

No real complaints other than that. Keep working on your vibrato as well so you can make things meld into each other a bit more by adding some more expression to notes. Good work and happy new year!
