Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Tom!

We are doing a very intensive work at the mentoring program (Link HERE) and this take, even with things to improve, shows how much your playing is improving. So this is a proof of your hard work and motivation. Congrats friend!

You know my thoughts about which things you need to continue polishing in your playing and in this lesson. Both bending and vibrato are on the right track but still need to sound more natural, precise and now talking about vibrato more regular and connected with the groove.

This has been a very positive year for you as a guitarist, keep on the great job!

Hi Tom, happy new year to you!

This is a very good take. Not long ago we were watching you working on basic chord changes and now you're already working on lead guitar. You should be proud of your progress.

Your vibrato is developing nicely. Sometimes you may want to time the vibrato so it follows the beat but other times you may want to ignore the beat and either make the vibrato faster or slower. Try experimenting with making the vibrato a bit faster, like Bear does in the video, and see how this feels to you - and listen to how it sounds.

Your bending is also doing well.

Both of these aspects will continue to develop, as well as your picking work. You manage to use your hand to cover the strings and prevent unwanted noise for most of the time too - well done.

Hey Tom!

Impressive progress you're showing us since the time you've posted your first takes. It all sounds very descent with a lot of attention to all details. I'm sure once you'll feel more comfortable with this, you'll be able to add some magic of your own to the track - like Ben's advice on vibrato speed. At the moment I think you deserve high grade since everything here is totally under control and you control of pitch is ultra pleasant for my ears. Excellent work mate! smile.gif
