Hi guys!
Im about to buy this guitar (Second hand but looks new), someone got this guitar or tried it? I like Schecter models and i know (cause i had one but cheaper than this) that Schecter got a great relation price/quality than bigger trademarks than Epiphone, Ibanez, etc etc

Specs:
CONSTRUCTION: Neck-Thru Body
BODY: Mahogany with Quilted Maple Veneer cap with natural binding
NECK: Multi-Ply Maple & Walnut
FINGERBOARD: Rosewood
FRETS: 24 Jumbo
SCALE: 25 1/2???
INLAYS: Abalone Vine of Life
BRIDGE: TonePros TOM with Thru-Body
BINDING: Creme (Neck/Head) natural on body
TUNERS: Grover
PICKUPS: Seymour Duncan JB (SH-4) and Jazz (SH-2N) (COIL TAP)
ELECTRONICS: Volume, Tone (PUSH PULL), 5-way Mega
FINISH: 3 Tone Sunburst with Satin Gold Hardware

I play rock and metal, and really like the versatility of the guitar...Of course, ill try the guitar before buy it.
The price is around u$s 1144, new costs u$s 1390... to have an idea, here in my country, an Epiphone LP Standard costs around u$s 789... a Gibson Les paul Std u$s 3430, a Gibson les paul studio u$ 1770

Any suggestion or opinion is apreciatted!

Wow, that's an awesome price considering the specs. This guitar is really great! I'd say you test it A/B with other models if you can.

Some cons about those pickups and electronics. Even the higher-quality schecters I played, while not that many in number, all had really weak sounding pickups when coil tapped. Active and passive electronics alike, lost a TON of signal when tapped.

Another con, you say you like rock so those JB/Jazz pickups will be fine. You also say you like metal and I don't think those have such a good reputation for metal.

Now I have two parkers with those same JB/Jazz pickups and the coil tapping works great. There might be a loss of signal but nothing like the dropout that I heard in the schecters I tried at the music stores. As for metal tones, I'm so inexperienced with that style of music that I can't be sure that my idea of a metal tone that works in those pickups is really good enough for a true connosieur.

I'd wait for more feedback from other GMC folks on that topic. I'm pretty sure I've heard the phrase "you won't get metal tones with those"

The Schecter C-1 Classic is a great guitar for me. I own the 2009 model (with silver hardware and sunburst). Action on this guitar is great, sustain is far better than on my US fender strat.

And, it is now truly a classic, since they have discontinued this model.... . No more C-1 Classics as of 2010.

Btw, you might want to check the age of this guitar. Isn't this a 2008 model? If so, the 2nd hand price is quite steep (it is quite steep overall btw, but that must be Argentinian pricing)...

I dont tried JB pickups, but many metal guitarist uses JB (like Dave Mustaine from Megadeth)... Anyway, i dont play any "extreme" metal... i like more lights things.. like Avantasia!
But my idea is to, in the future, get another guitar with floyd rose and active pickups... the other side of the coin!

You say it Rik, here the prices in dollars are very high... (1 dollar = 3.8 argentinian peso). The price is good for my country... Onle the two pickups costs 340 U$s. The guitar is a 2007 model (gold hardware, antique amber).

I would go for a Gibson Les Paul Studio instead. Imho the best guitar in it's price league!

that's a very good option too, here is the cheapest gibson vs top of the line schecter, i think i would go with the gibson, but JUST because i love the look of the lp's, maybe the schecter is a better guitar.

I´ve never played a Gibson... i played with an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and i dont like the neck too much, another thing i didnt like of that Epi was the way the neck is set in... I couldnt access the highest frets with comfortability. I guess a Gibson plays differen.
Anyway there are other factors (money) that makes me choose this guitar: The guy whos selling the C-1 is going to take my actual guitar and my eq pedal... so i will give him only u$s 513 cash

Ive been playing this guitar for the last few months and o cant put it down. this one is a keeper for me, a good "main" gigging guitar.

Ive had no problems, the stock pick ups sound great in my rig, and ive had pretty good offers on this guitar before, but i couldnt seem to let it go
