I think probably 60s and 70s - the guitar was really taken to a new dimension around that time...

Now, all the bands I still like from the 70s and 80s are still making albums and touring, like Maiden and Priest, and then bands that are newer, like Opeth, Trivium, and the such are around smile.gif

IMO today's colorful era of music could provide the most for the listener. Metal as genre got really diverse, there are many great solo guitarists exploring new territory while incorporating the "classic" heritage, and today's rock/pop and even indie bands come up with great and unique stuff!

70s and 80s by far. Modern music is depressingly bad. I havent bought a modern release in a long time.

Perhaps showing my age but I'd say 60s and 70s. Personally I think the 80s were pretty awful for music as a whole. Fine for heavy rock but for music more generally it wasn't great. Try going to an 80s revival night and see what the DJ plays wink.gif .
Cheers,
Tony

Music was better in the 70's but the 80's influenced me a lot. I chose the 70's though, less of Wham, Culture Club etc wink.gif

I love cheesy 80's pop lol. And all the metal and shred from that era as well obviously.

I voted 80s

But it was close with 70s and 80s. I love the first half of the 90s but absolutely detest from 95 onwards so it's weird lol. But I love music mainly from 50s through to 1995. smile.gif
