From the stuff I've seen till now, probably the new mxr CC delay is the most important.

For those who isn't familiar, its a dark delay thats specially favored by solo/shred guitar players and those who are into that deep sounding british pop/rock vibes.

I saw Hagstrom are doing an RD clone with Ghost -

I would be tempted. Ive always really liked the Gibson RD but they're tough to get and really tough to pay for huh.gif
Are Hagstrom any good? I guess this model will be Indonesian made judging by the price.

Friend of mine bought a RG7PCMLTD

I spent good time with it, even did the basic setup. Only downside I noticed was the setup was pretty bad, stuff like nut height adjustment etc. had to be done but I didn't have any tools with me so just lowered the strings. There was minor buzzing here and there but fret job was verall ok, the fret edge treatement of these guitars are amazing.

The neck is really cool, you can feel the woods and grain. For some the PAF7 might be a bit underpowered but its super versatile. If it had a better setup and stamped prestige there no way telling its any worse than prestige's. Ibanez is really getting close to killing their Japanese line of guitars biggrin.gif

The neck is just a pinch thicker and the pickups are a bit cheaper. Other than than it's pretty darn close to the prestige line imho. I've got a prestige finally and its got the same neck profile as the original wizards and I can feel the difference between that neck and the wizard II, III, premium neck even though it's only 1 mm at the nut. I've always used an original wizard neck so I"m really used to how it feels. Still they are very nice guitars especially for the price. New prestige models seem to have doubled in price for no reason.

I saw this coming out at namm. It's a microhpone done in stereo that also acts as 2 in 2 out audio interface for mac or pc.

The PU's are dimarzio!

http://www.dimarzio.com/node/2231 they even tilted them (placing rubber under PU's) to give a more single-like sound. Way back when I got my first prestige that guitar also had the PU's tilted, a very nice detail imho.

As for the neck, I didn't check but yeah probably a mm thicker. Felt better than the korean S 7 string guitar my friend also had though, plus as mentioned that zillion piece neck didn't have any polishing like prestige's have which gives a very different feel to the instrument.

I've heard they are good and they are not that expensive. And they have Lundgren pickups, only heard good things about them.

I bought a RD mid-eighties. Liked the look of it but noone wanted them around then... think I paid 200 euro. Sounded crap with the original pickups so I traded it for something else...

Pre-order price over here is about 750 GBP. Id like to get my hands on one first but I'll be keeping an eye on them for sure. I read that they were Lundgren designed PU's I guess that's the same deal as 'duncan designed'. Im sure they will be cool.
I just think the RD shape is killer, they look really nice to play.

200 for an RD! thats awesome. The only one Ive seen around recently was a '77 model for about 1K but it had been modified to have 3 humbuckers and extra switches. Totally ruined the guitar. I may have broke out the credit card if it hadn't been butchered like that smile.gif

Summer NAMM is a pretty low key affair and it's unusual for any notable product news to be announced. So, _any_ announcement at Summer NAMM is probably the most important announcement at Summer NAMM smile.gif. Manufacturers like Ibanez often don't exhibit anything at all at Summer NAMM.

This year seems to be better than previous ones I remember, atleast from a web point of view.

I reckon you could get better $100 guitars without the Epiphone name on the headstock. Peavey, Yamaha etc.

I checked 1-2 websites and didn't see much options lower priced. What puzzles me a bit is what these's guitars are tonally aiming for, a short scale with 2 singles...

Probably this is a dad's guitar for his kid smile.gif like, dad walks to a store and asks for the lowest priced guitar, if he has a girl than picks one of the candy-like colors...problem is max a year later the kid will want a strat or something with humbuckers biggrin.gif

Thats killer that they are NOT using those INF pickups anymore. I hope those go away. sad.gif Never was a fan. I like the unfinished neck vibe smile.gif It's hard to beat for the price now that prestige guitars are running around 2k!
