Hi gmc´s

Perhaps do you know what are the requirements to play at NAMM?

is know that isn´t for all people...

but someday i want to play there....

could be amazing....

if you were at NAMM show i want to know your experience ....

Short answer ... If you have a relationship with a guitar, amp or pedal maker then (if they attend) you can have a very good chance to play at the NAMM show.

Requirements? It depends.
Do you mean playing as entertainment or demoing a product?

NAMM (the organization) along with musical instrument manufacturers and vendors will sponsor the bands and solo artists that that perform at the show. These performances take place outside all day long as well in the the hotel lobbies around the convention site. *For those that have never been, it is absolutely a 'convention' in the truest sense of the word. Those of you that have been to to any type of convention (or congress) know what I'm talking about.
You get a gig there by soliciting NAMM and/or a musical instrument manufacturer or retailer.

If you want to do a product demo for a company first you generally need to be endorsed by that company (Paul Gilbert - Ibanez for example) and than asked to come to the NAMM show and play their gear as well as talk about it at their booth.
I say generally because that's not always the case. If you're a known player (for whatever reason) then sometimes certain manufacturers will ask if you would show/demo their product. They usually pay you or give you some gear.

I only once had a chance to play at a local guitar gear fair. It was funny as me and my drummer friend were browsing and then we got asked by a local music store to play a bit. We did drum and bass and musicians gathered It is quite different to play for musicians I must say. We just noodled though and it was fun
