hey guys, so a good friend of mine just got a german foreign exchange student and she speaks very little english

however

she is very very very beautiful, and i would like to impress her with some german,

this is where my fellow german GMCers come in handy

if you dont mind, translating from english to german in this thread and possibly vice versa smile.gif

thanks!

first thing id like to say

"Hello Clara...I hope you are enjoying your time here so far! we need to take you on more adventures!

PS- you have very pretty eyes"

thanks you very much for your help!

You know I can speak it ok but I cant write it to save my life! laugh.gif

Hello Clara would just be "Hallo Clara", or if you want be fancy you could say "Hallo Frau Clara".

"Ich hoffe, dass Sie Ihre Zeit hier so weit genießen"

-- I hope you are enjoying your time here so far

"Wir müssen sie am Abenteuer "

--We need to take you on more adventures

"Sie haben schöne Augen"

--You have very pretty eyes

Someone who is fluent in German will probably have to correct me cause I am sure I have forgotten sentence structure, been awhile since ive written it.

I wouldn't say "Sie"!!! because you know her.

This is how you can say it:

-- I hope you are enjoying your time here so far

Ich hoffe du genießt deine Zeit hier bislang.

--We need to take you on more adventures

Wir müssen dich zu mehr Abenteuern verleiten

--You have very pretty eyes

Du hast wunderschöne Augen

The "PS" would be the same if he spells it out as "post scriptum"... but probably with a rolling "r" and and "um" with an "oump". "Post scrrrriptomm"

That's as far as I can help you... wink.gif

As we are already tossing out the stereotypes, why not write everything with ä,ö or ü to make it look even more German?!

tongue.gif ...the grammar would be wrong then...
