I found this today...a few facts an australian blogger found out while spending time in Germany. The funny fact (for me) is that he or she stayed in my hometown Münster, so I can relate to many of the things in this article.

The German police also only fired 85 bullets last year. Forty-nine were warning shots, 36 were fired at suspects, and 6 people were killed.

I'm pretty sure german policemen are afraid of all the paperwork they have to do if they even fire a single bullet as a warning shot
