This is the thread to nominate members who you want to become "Most Valued Contributers" (MVC).

You can add as many nominations as you lilke in a single post, but for each one you must describe what they have done or are doing to deserve promotion to an MVC - just a couple of sentences will do, but bear in mind that for your nomination to stand out the more thorough a job you do the better!

Just cruised through the member list expecting to this nominee was already in the senior group and ... he's not!
So. I hereby nominate ZakkWylde to be added to the ranks of GMC senior for the following reasons:
- ZakkWylde will go out of his way to find you a left handed guitar in austria
- ZakkWylde will find you the address of that music store
- ZakkWylde will translate love songs into german for lonely southern californian gentlemen
- ZakkWylde is seven feet tall (yes, I've heard)
- ZakkWylde will help you wire your new pickups from far away
- ZakkWylde knows the exact frequencies of resonation for the wood that was used to build Vin Diesel's head
- ZakkWylde also knows the correct types of guitar pickups that would work best in Vin Diesel's head
Really, just that he's very well experienced and seems to go quite far out of his way to help others. Two qualities I personally hold in high regard.

I agree with jafo, ZakkWylde! for the Gear section! He helped me tons with my new pickup installation! I also think Jafomatic is a good one, because he's very active on chat (so real-time helping) and he has helped me quite a lot with the mixing of my competition entry!

I nominate jafomatic, the one who's been babysitting me in the chat room throughout this holiday, helped me fix various bits and pieces on guitar, acquire greater knowledge in the realm of music (theory and practice), edited my personal photo just out of pure curiosity and benevolence, and definitely set a very good mood in the chat's atmosphere, always ready to help those new to GMC and guitar.
No need to thank me, jafomatic, it is I who should thank you !
EDIT: In my enthusiasm I forgot to add that I think Sollesnes also deserves a little more privileges in this community, first of all because he is Norwegian (joking ), he's always helpful in chat, knows more theory than most, has guitar skills that people would kill him for, is going to play Mojo Oro full speed, and because he is a very active, respected, helpful member. I would like to add that he has helped me with feedback when it comes to my guitar playing, and also to my composition skills (I'm referring to Emir's wonderful neoclassical collaboration).

Kaznie for the reason he's been here for a long time and always made his best to help others despite his young age, and I don't think there's a gmc member who doesn't know him
Visi0n has dissapeard from the forum over the last couple of months as well as myself and other gmc "oldies", but I would still like to nominate him because he was one of the first people I met on gmc and he really helped me progress and I feel that through his incredible recordings he inspired many GMCers to improve

My nominations would be GMCer's who contribute a lot to the Forum, have a reasonable post count, are always friendly and helpful, participate in almost every action going on at GMC (Mtp, virtual bands, Rec, Wiki, Student Instructor, etc...).
Overall: Members that make this forum what it is today!
-KaznieNL: 3500+ posts, almost 2 year member, active Wiki:er and helping Fran to coordinate the wiki if I remember correctly, VB member and almost partaking in every Collaboration, active on the forum all the time, always friendly and helpfull GMCer!
-Supersize: 3000+ posts, 2year+ member, Student Instructor, in a lot of collabs, we all look up to his dedication in the REC program, metalhead 
, constantly posting in the forums and always friendly!

I would like to nominate Sensible Jones for his awesome work in the wiki, and Superize, the effort he puts into GMC ( especially the REC prog) is second to none and he's an all round top GMCer.

I've gotta say, for all the reasons allready mentioned (also for beeing really nice chaps!)

Tough choice.. but I would say ZakkWylde and Kaznie cause they are on the forum for quite some time and are always active giving advices to people and participating in every activity.

Hey guys here are my votes:
Zakk Wylde: because he knows everything about pick ups and i want to change mine
Marc_maiden: because he knows how to flirt with a german girl just kiddin. he is a really great help in the chat very friendly and he knows how to make good backings.
Superize: He is such an inspiration to learn and practice harder. Maybe we can use his REC Videos for a GMC advertisement and show the great potential of GMC

I think the answer to the first part is yes. You're a senior and a member - and any member has a right to nominate someone.
Canis has already been nominated and as this is a nomination thread one nomination AFAIK is all that is necessary at this stage. Again AFAIK multiple nominations for any individual doesn't add any additional weight with Andrew and Kris.
ps - Canis - just using you as an example mate - nothing untoward meant by it

I thoroughly agree with all current nominations, and I would like to include our dear Photoshop-Meister Bondy, I think he deserves a place in the list, along with the other awesome members already mentioned, for his dedication creating wallpapers, movie posters & different artwork in our wiki

Thanks for the nomination it really touches my heart.
I have been around here for about 2 years or so and have tried to make a difference for GMC and it's members with the free time I could find. This is the best community of musicians I have ever had the honor of being a part of. I don't regret a thing. You all are great and I wish I had more time to spend with each of you but we all have a life and some responsibilities. I will be able to get back to the Chat's I have had with some of you and the Welcomes to our new members really soon.Regards to all,

In the new MTP applications thread, Chris replied that Andrew had a severe back ache and couldn't sit behind his computer! That might be the problem, Chris said that Andrew said (implicated) that he'd hopefuly be able to sit again somewhere next week.

but just to add here, this is a nomination thread only, the names put forward here means that they will be looked at and considered as candidates it doesnt mean that someone with 5 or so nominations will automatically become a senior or be selected as candidates, you only need to be nominated once in this thread to be "considered".

Thanks for all the nominations guys - as you can see I have changed this from a Senior nomination thread to an MVC nomination thread.
We will keep the list of nominated members active at the top of the thread, and start running votes very soon now to pick our first MVCs !
However, please keep nominating deserving members here if they are not already in the list at the top - we want to keep this program rolling for as long as there are deserving members out there - and who gets to be an MVC is entirely up to you guys, the members as you nominate and vote!

by the way a friend is offering a DiMarzio Blaze 7 string bridge pickup, would this be any good for my RG1527? he's givint it for a very low price,

That's me. Actually, I wasn't even active when I was nominated, I think. My activity has dwelled quite a bit in recent times. I'd always like to add in and help, but you guys are replying soooo fast than by the time I get my post written answers have already been given and all there's left to say is like: "Oh, yeah, I agree with Zakk"
Damn you!And when I try to be helpful playing live on video chat in front of a few viewers, when I'm just about intending to do some instructional thingie, instructors join the chat and start video chatting and steals my audience of 2 people! Give a guy a break!

Right...why not give the MVC and the competitions a bump? I mean, this is a community and I think it is perfectly fine when students reanimate some forgotten features.

It is 10 days and as usual these posts just get dumped into bottom. I will bump this thread so admins get serious butt on GMC! It looks like bumping threads work..
I will probably get kicked out but GMC is not the same place it used to be when I joined..

Its time to get refreshed with new energies.Why would you get kicked out for writing your opinion? That's what is so great about GMC, you can criticize things without being kicked out, instead the staff will work on it...usually. But I agree with you, it seems to me like some things have gotten a bit slower over time. That's why I think it's up to us students to bring new life to some things, you can't blame it all on the admins. I'd also say, if nobody answers to a bump for an MVC vote in ten days, maybe people are not interested in this feature anymore, which is perfectly fine. Things change over time!

I think that due to smaller activity nowadays it would be difficult to really choose one member that would be on par with the previous MVC...
