I've been playing for 23 years now I think, Metallica got me interested, from there it became slayer, pantera, sepultura, morbid angel, deicide and too many other death metal bands to mention. Then I found classical guitar which led to flamenco and folk. I started teaching when I left high school in 1993 through to 2000, then went into construction work until 2008, now I'm back into teaching and I have around 70 students every week. I love guitar and most types of music. I live it, I breath it I love it.
To any instructor who might be interested in helping me. I've written a 7/8 timing riff in E dominant phrygian mode and I'm trying to work out if there is a better way to approach the picking pattern that I have chosen for a particular run. I've included the picking pattern in the Guitar Pro file and I'm trying to get it up to 86 bpm. It feels cumbersome changing between the strings and I would love any suggestions you might have even if it includes scrapping the run all together.
Last Wednesday my hard drive crashed on my mac and due to me being a stubborn old dinosaur I didn't have anything backed up. I lost all photos and all my recordings. Moral of this story don't forget to back up your data.
So I have been quite busy with work and bands and thus have not been able to hang with you all in the forum as much as I like but I hope that will change as the holidays are coming up. So what have you all been up too?? I have joined another band called All Strings Attached, they are a Gypsy punk band which is a lot of fun to play with as the violin player is awesome and we do duelling harmonies and melodies which is great fun at 220bpm. If you want to check us out we recorded a music video which was good fun and you can find more songs on sound cloud too. I might do another collaboration with permission from the guitar masters here of course, any particular style you would like to do? Peace out
I recently purchased my first Suhr guitar and I have to say it is the most comfortable and well balanced guitar I've ever had the pleasure to play. Black Limba (korina) body and neck, Pau Ferro fretboard and burl maple top with matching headstock in algae burst finish. It's quite heavy but that just makes it sound more amazing and holds the sustain better. I highly recommend you pick up and play a Suhr guitar if you get the chance as this has made my Jackson custom shop and vintage Jackson soloist feel clumsy and my ES 335 build quality second rate. http://s1140.photobucket.com/user/jacks2ax...rt=3&page=1
Hello again my fellow guitarists, so I found out yesterday that there was this comp to win a 7 string Mayones Regius and I listened to the backing track and thought it sounded good. I made up a solo last night and recorded it this morning and now I'm on my knees begging for votes. I'm not the fastest player by a long shot and there are some amazing entries but if you're interested in having a listen to my solo then go to Mayones comp and vote for me My next challenge will be the Hufschmidt comp with Darius backing track which I'm finding a bit more difficult to write a solo too.
Thanks in advance for those of you who vote for me
