GMC Forum _ Electronic Entertainment _ Recommend Me A Game
Posted by: Marcus Lavendell Jun 2 2008, 11:02 PM
I don't really have much time for it, but I love to play games! I actually find it very relaxing!
Anyway, now I'm looking for some new ones for my Xbox 360. Thing is that I'm not up to date at all, so I have no clue what I should get I just bought Gears of war, because the seller told me it's the best game ever. But I didn't like that game, just wasn't my style.
I like games where I have to think a lot (puzzle solving). Not so much the shoot 'em up-style, but I like Hitman, Tomb Raider, Oblivion (parts of it), Alundra, Final Fantasy, Zelda... maybe those are all different game styles, but still you might get an idea of what kind of games I like. Oh, and it's a big plus if it's great music in the game of course!
Anyone who can recommend some games for me?

Posted by: ZakkWylde Jun 2 2008, 11:25 PM
Mass Effect is a great scifi rpg and maybe gta 4 if you want the freedom to explore an entire city
Posted by: superize Jun 2 2008, 11:27 PM
Try Naruto Rise of a ninja it is pretty funny
Posted by: Nick325 Jun 2 2008, 11:27 PM
do you like strategy games?
Posted by: Pi38 Jun 2 2008, 11:29 PM
I know you said you don't really like shoot'em up games, but I love Call Of Duty 4. It's gotten great reviews, and I can personally tell you that it's a great game, and it's not just running around and killing people, it has a lot of stealth about it. Also, if you're looking for games with great music, try Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band. They're ALL about music. I find that I don't play them much since I've started to play guitar, but it's still lots of fun to play them.

Thanks Siggum, ZakkWylde, superize and Pi38. I'll check out those games!

ok this game is sort of shoot em up but... soundtrack = beyond beautiful
BIOSHOCK
i would have bought it just for the soundtrack
i also agree that assassin's creed is up your alley because of the whole thinking side of games
Halo Wars isn't out yet but definitely seems your kind of game
o and don't forget about tetris
Posted by: axelsson Jun 3 2008, 06:20 AM
Yeah, according to what you say Marcus I really think Bio Shock could suite you well. Plus that it got outstanding reviews!
Posted by: Marcus Lavendell Jun 3 2008, 07:09 AM
Wow! I see there's lots of games I have to check out!
Assassins Creed looks very interesting

You should definitely play Assassins Creed, and you should try Prince of Persia games
And if you want puzzles, you should try Portal!!
Posted by: Zizi Top Jun 3 2008, 07:32 AM
In the strategy games, there's also Generals (and it's expansion : zero hours) from command & conquer
But i like blizzard games : Diablo 2; Starcraft (by the way there's a new stracraft 2, but it's not finished yet) and world of warcraft, but world of warcraft take a lot of time to burn

Assasins Creed is cool but gets very repetitive plus theres not really any puzzles if you had a PS3 i would reccomend
Uncharted Drakes Fourtune i think thats the kind of game your after cool game
Posted by: Bucket86 Jun 3 2008, 11:37 AM
Blue Dragon and lost oddysey are two good Final Fantasy style games (lost odyssey being the better one imo).
The orange box and assains creed are good too.
Mass effect and bioshock also both meet your criteria as well.
(i know these have all been mentioned before, just seconding some oppinions)
Posted by: Marcus Lavendell Jun 3 2008, 12:35 PM

I give my vote to Assassins Creed. The game looks awesome!
Posted by: Bondy Jun 4 2008, 05:47 PM
Assassins creed is awesome to look at but after a bit it gets really repetitive theres only so many people you can save and scale so many viewpoints

Pretty fun game, just as usual, way too short.
I thought NG Black was really long. Especially since I beat it on all difficulties (Yes Master Ninja Mode, I Pretty much only played that game for the longest time my xbox didnt see any other games for a while)
I picked NG2 up today but I dont have my Xbox with me so i wont be able to try NG2 till Friday
But My Xbox better no die on me either, its making really wierd noises right now.
Oh Yeah Uncreator, since you've played it do you know how many difficulties there is? I've heard theres only 2.
Edit:NVRmind I found it duhhhh it was on the first page lol I thought my post was on the second
Actually Marcus I just started thinking now, you say like puzzle games, so, mabey a good game for you might be Dead Rising. It has:
- Epic amounts of Zombies(Excelent)
- Saving People (Cool)
- Lotsa cool Wepons (Chainsaws, Golf Clubs, Shotguns, Katanas and more)
- Lotsa Violence
- And solving the mystery of how the zombies came to be(Puzzle Solving)
.
Oh yeah and you can kill zombies with a Strat, Flying V, Acustic, and Bass guitar
I liked it and its a Platinum hit now so its Cheap.
And as everyone was saying Assasins Creed is a great game but it just doesnt have much of a replay value to it IMO

I'll check it out!

Dead Rising is ace. You can stick a frying pan on a hob and then hit a zombie with the hot pan What could be more fun.
Posted by: Eat-Sleep-andJam Jun 5 2008, 12:51 PM
Ill settle for Dead Rising, but you can pretty much get a "real" taste for the game by downloading the Demo of Xbox Lives Marketplace
Posted by: The Uncreator Jun 5 2008, 03:04 PM
Using the riding lawnmower is just perfect in Dead Rising
Posted by: Joe Kataldo Jun 5 2008, 03:12 PM
Grand theft auto IV

There's 3 games i can safely recommend:
1.Assassin's Creed (simply beautiful and will keep you busy for hours, it can get a bit repetative in the long run, but thats only after hours and hours of playing)
2. Burnout Paradise, huge city to drive through. And it looks great.
3. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga It might be targeted for kids, but i think it's absolutely brilliant

You would have fun with GTA4 also....

ya dead rising too whats better than killing zombies with anything you can find in a mall
Posted by: Pizzoaro Jun 7 2008, 12:33 AM
I bet u would hate guitar hero...
But The final fantasy series are really worth it!
I bought the PS2 just to get X, X-II and XII...
Final fantasy is awesome...
most of the music there (all of it i think?) are composed by Nobuo Uematsu...
You should at least check that out... Its some of the gretest epiciest s*** ive heard...
Final fantasy!!!!
