In Gary's honor, we have prepared this collab, having 2 backing tracks in which you can use the minor blues scale and the major one at two different tempos, so that everyone can feel free to jump in and jam!
If you want to sing the sorrow or you want to jam for joy, we've got both options ready, so come and join! But first, let's see the tech specs: ------------------------------------------- BACKING TRACKS This collab is based on Piotr's: Ballad and Blues II: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Ballad-and-Blues-II/ Tempo : 90 BPM - Slow minor track collab5_slow_90bpm.wav ( 6.73MB ) Number of downloads: 1947 Key : A minor Tempo: 135 BPM - Fast major track collab5_fast_135bpm.wav ( 4.79MB ) Number of downloads: 1146 Key: A major ------------------------------------------- Here's everything you need to know about how to enter this collaboration: 1. Download the backing track and open it in your recording software 2. Record your part in the recording software and with your video cam (if you have the possibility to record video). You can record anything - a short fill part, rhythm based ideas, or a full lead part (solo). 3. Render one track containing your recording only - 16 bit wave file 44,1 kHz 4. Render one track containing both solo and backing track in an .mp3 format 5. Send us your video (preferably in .mp4 format) As before, you can send us the last 3 files mentioned, using a dropbox link, or any other transfer service you are used to, by posting them in this thread or attaching them to a private message. If you can't submit a video, you can send us only the audio files and some pictures of you - it will work out great as well! The more pictures you send, the better will it be for editing in the final video! When attaching/sending the collab files, please include the source file of the video as well. Very important: IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER/ ADVANCED/ PRO/ GOD - all styles, approaches and all levels are welcome and you can even play just a short fill if you feel like it! Bringing your contribution to this track and tribute to the GMC community is what really matters! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Collab tips: As in the previous collabs, we want this one to stand out as much as possible, because this will give your playing and progress maximum exposure. So here's what we suggest: Making short but polished and detailed lines will always give you better results! If you focus on a short part of the backing track, then you will most likely amaze yourself and others! No explicit need to play over the full backing track length, pick any amount of bars you feel most comfortable playing over. It is always better to come up with something short but catchy or memorable! Check out these lessons for inspiration in respect to minor and major blues phrasing: Garry Moore Ballad Lesson Mixing Major and Minor Boxes Lesson Blues Shuffle Minor/Major Lesson Peter Green Style Lesson Hyper Blues Lesson Blues Duet Rhythm and Solo Lesson For detailed blues study, check out the Blues Guitar Theory Guide. Scales you could use: A Aeolian (A natural minor) A blues major A blues minor Remember - the only thing we require is that you participate and be yourself - there are no rules, and no limits! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deadline: April 10th Participants: Cosmin Lupu, Darius Wave, Gabriel Leopardi, Spock, Sensible Jones, Guitarrero, tflava, wavo, Renan, Procyon, Caellumamittendum, AK Rich, Koseydon, Monica Gheorghevici, gregc1, Ricky9, Huargo, Todd Simpson, Beat Zbinden, Alisson Da Silva, GuitarGenius, Jeroen, SlowFingaX, wrk, bleez *** Collaboration final mix and comments: click here This post has been edited by Bogdan Radovic: May 11 2014, 12:40 PM |

These are two awesome and fun backings guys! Here is a little improv I came up with this evening for the fast one. What do you guys think, should I submit this, or should I noodle around with it some Moore?

And the tone sounds a bit unclear - you got a chorus in there maybe? I would go for a dryer tone |

Let's hear some other takes as well! Maybe you'll come up with something even better! I've yet to come up with anything good over the major track. Minor is a little easier for me. |

It's just my thought based on what I know You are able to make fantastic |
