I don't think playing the guitar will solve your real problem, and although guitar can help you to build some king of self esteem (cause men and specially women think musicians are cool etc), you have to be the person you like. You cannot achieve that by just focusing on guitar and hoping that guitar playing will fix you as a person. Don't get me wrong tho, guitar can help you to make new friends, meet interesting people and everything, but it will not help you to deal with those people in a proper way. If you think bad of yourself (for example, you mentioned yourself that you think you are nerd, playing games etc), guitar won't help there. It's all in your mind. You have to just let go of those thoughts, and think better of yourself. Meet some friends, hang out a bit, invite them to your place, live a little, and in time it will all come into place. Oh, did I mention to continue to play guitar?

Playing guitar is a very good hobby/profession! And yes it is a cool skill to learn and it will make you a "better" and more "interesting" person.Same with everything in life , skills you have count too and will define who you really are. Not to mention that playing can lead you to some very interesting things in life.

socialize, even though it might be frightening at first, and it has ups and down, in the end giving a lot of yourself helps. stick with people who respect you, and dont give a **** about those who dont. |

If ya wanna socialize, if you live close to your school, walk home. Many people walk home where i live and i just got like 15 new good friends in 3 weeks
