Greetings to all..

So I am having a little issue with order of effects. I see different suggestions and advice though the various threads here but still having some problems. Between really loud hums to completely muddling the guitar signal to were the sound is garbled. Here is what Im running in order through a Peavey 6505+ through the effects loop - ISP Decimator>Maxon OD9>Digitech RP 500 (used primarily for Chorus and Delays with no amp simulations). Ive have tried various combination's of order to no avail from rp500>OD9>Decimator too taking the noise reducer out of the chain and putting it in front of the amp. What do you guys think? Maybe the cables? Im stumped. Im also a little dissapointed with the Maxon OD9, I keep the gain way down low because the distortion you get out of the Peavey is freakin outstanding but the pedal is changing the tonality of the distortion. The idea was to get some added warm tone but to my ears it reshapes the distortion into a different sound were as the 6505+ gives you a very heavy driven crush you sound. Dont know if that makes sense.

Maybe this Maxon causes you all the problems,
it's OD pedal and it should go before amp (preamp section)
and not after ( FX Loop ).
Regarding Decimator, it is NR pedal
but you can also put it right after Maxon and before the amp.
Speaking of hum you mentioned,
what kind of guitar you have, what pickups?
You know, some hum just cannot be killed that easily
if you wanna high gain with some random single coils, just an example.
And you should check your cables too, no doubt,
every piece of gear in tone chain must be fully operational. smile.gif

Muris is right, OD pedal should go in front of the amp, not in loop. have you tried perhaps only guitar>amp without any effects? Is noise present? How much if it is?

Thanks Guys!

I tried recommendations. Finally figured it out. It was the power adapters causing the excessive hum between the maxon and decimator pedal. Never even thought about that to begin with.

I'd put the noise surpressor right after the guitar, and like mentioned the OD before the amp.

Then to get everything noiseless you should run all effects on batteries. I'e the Surpressor kills any noise from the guitar for a clean signal into the amp. But with your kind of amp my bet is that the preamp is noisy so you could get a better result with it in the loop.
