Purple Hayes - Larry Graham Style Bass, Original lesson by Bogdan Radovic |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Larry_Graham_Style/
Gear: Yamaha 6 string bass, POD X3 live, Reaper, Vegas Notes: This was my originally assigned MTP lesson for November, but Bogdan decided to go with an easier one (which I submitted yesterday). I decided to learn this lesson too because I'd already put some time and effort into it. @ :55 that's my wife waving some papers around asking me something. This was a surprise!
Overall take was very good (you learned it pretty fast considering difficulty). My main recommendation would be to focus on keeping strings ringing as much as they need (note duration) - not cutting them too early. First part of the lesson was played very well, you only lost timing in the ending licks. In the second part you had more problems (syncopated part) and timing in part at 1:02. I can hear that this tempo is a little bit to fast for you currently, but you're nearly there - with some more practice you could get it perfect, focus on notes durations, you want everything to sound even in time as in this take in some parts you were falling behind and in some parts "catching up time" on some licks/notes and rushing a bit. Back off the tempo a little when practicing and in a week or two you will be able to play it perfectly. Great job man on submitting two monthly REC takes! -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Great grove and feel. I agree with Bogdan that there was a bit of rushing here and there but I find it like a cool live feel Good work.
