Hi guys...
I wanna say a few things a bout monitoring systems on stage(and lack of one)..With my band we played a bout 200 shows with out monitoring on stage.....and as it was bad on the first 50 or so shows smile.gif,we learn to listen to each others, and our self....
Trust me,time would come when some thing goes wrong, and your speaker in front of you fails,so in order to not stay confused in that moment, and to keep this situation from effecting your play, you need to practice this technique to..
how?
well the best way(IMO) is when you are on stage, when you are playing, try to concentrate on every instrument in a band one by one....In time you will know your band members(or how they think in any given moment) so good that you will be able to anticipate their next step, especially when it comes to some mistake in a song, during a play...
that is why people that play together a long time never stop during a show if a mistake was made....

It is a good thing that you know your part by hart,so many times you will not hear any thing on stage that you play....
when it comes to singing, just when you put your hand over your ear when you sing, and the sound of your voice get stronger in your head, you can do that on the stage if it is necessary, but in time you will hear it strong enough, that you will hear the melody strong enough even with out the hand....smile.gif
