Posted by: Todd Simpson Jun 5 2021, 07:55 AM

They have half of on all upgrades and some killer deals on just about everything. If you use KONTACT or other NI tools. The big Summer sale is here smile.gif I have not updated my NI stuff in quite a while and now I"m looking at all this new libraries and getting VST envy. I'm very curious how the newest ones sound. Going to try some demos.

Very nice todd.
I upgraded my komplete 12 to komplete 13 ultimate.
Cant wait to use the session horns pro and Cuba vst.
They have also some real nice cinematic instruments smile.gif
I also really like to use the emotive strings in my arrangement smile.gif
Curious what you think of it

I'm somewhat new to DAWs and plugins but I recently purchased BIAS FX 2 Professional which was on sale also. It's been pretty cool so far. I've managed to come up with some half decent tones. It's been a learning experience using it with Reaper. With the Native Instruments plugins would I just add the plugin(vst?) to the track in Reaper like I do with BIAS? ALSO, would you guys recommend NI over BIAS?

NI has many products, their guitar amp sim. as an alternative to your bias fx is guitar rig but personally I don't think you need it. Guitar rig is mostly preferred for its fx (including synth. usage) rather than traditional guitar tones.

The other products are mostly virtual instruments, like by using a midi keyboard being able to play various instruments. But before buying anything you can get kontakt free; https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-6-player/ and when you search the web there are almost endless free instruments available.

GUITAR RIG is the NI guitar plugin and it works just about like most of them, you launch it inside your daw like bias smile.gif The handy thing about GUITAR RIG is that you can also use it for a wad of other stuff. Not just guitar. Here is a breakdown of it on the NI web site.

P.S. Bias is cool smile.gif But I gotta say I prefer Overloud THU hands down to it, But it all comes down to taste.

Hey mate.

I also used bias Fx 2 in the past and in my opinion its better then guitar rig.
To get better tones out of bias FX you can switch the cabs and use (free) impulse responses. This makes your tone a lot better cool.gif

Well said smile.gif I'd agree, Bias is a bit better than guitar rig and you can easily download patches with the built in patch browser. It's a killer bit of kit. I was one of the original beta testers for BIAS back when it first came out.

It was great fun! At the time, there was no such thing as BIAS in the world and then bam it hits and I saw on their website they were looking to vet some beta testers so they had you apply and picked out some folks. I got a free license for about a year which was great. They were really open to feedback about the way it worked and such. It was cool to be part of it and I'm way impressed with how they have grown since!
