Hey guys I had the best night at a workshop with Joe Satriani.
He played heaps of his tunes and went into some of his ideas behind them. He actually started by talking about his practice warm up etc
which really he said I'm surpose to be telling you about exercises but really I just get going by playing some songs. Exercises are boring!
Really nice guy. It's great to hear what his thought process is.
One thing I could laughed about was when he mention how with trying to play fast and nail some hard stuff we can spend 45 min not nailing
it and being more determind the next day to do it and missing it and this goes on and on and then we've spent a month playing crappy and a mate comes over and says what can you show me and all you have is crap.
He sort of mentioned how we often have one chance to impress so make sure it's good.

So also I better mention I won a Joe Satriani Vox overdrive pedal ice 9 and I got to meet Joe and he signed the pedal for me.
Awesome biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
I'll upload a pic later.

Hehe! Looks like you had a great time and the opportunity to learn enlightening truth from a master smile.gif I felt like I understood more about guitar in one hour than on year when I attended a masterclass with Guthrie Govan back in 2009, so I perfectly understand your feelings, mate biggrin.gif

This is awesome!! You are very lucky! Congrats!
I hope that we have masterclasses like this one more often in Argentina. I went to Kiko Loureiro's one and it was very inspiring.

Pic of my new pedal signed by Joe.
Had a quick play tonight very nice pedal.
Love the more button.
This was my second clinic in two weeks actually I saw
Steve Stevens a couple weeks back also. It was more of a
Roland demo though but man he pulled some nice tones.
Some really different stuff which I'd never think of but cause
He's a session guy he does. He's got some really tasty chops also.

Satriani didn't take his glasses off. I don't know how he can see with them on. They look quite dark. cool.gif

I won the pedal by answering a question on what brand of string and gauge does he use. "D'Addario 10-46"
