GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Effects Modulators

Posted by: Palacios Mar 12 2014, 10:05 PM

Hi classmates. I recently bought an effects modulator for the first time. It's pretty amazing. It had 80 different guitar effects pedals, drum beats, a tuner, and much more for only $60. My only gripe is that it is plastic. I'd like to exchange it for something of higher quality, but I don't know much about these. Does anyone have a preference, or favorite type of effects modulator?

If it's qualty taht is the main criteria and you have the budget then Eventide or possibly TC Helicon.

try Boss http://www.bossus.com/gear/productlist.php?ParentId=248

or Zoom http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/

both companies make high quality products that aren't too pricy.

good luck on your never-ending quest for the perfect tone...

The Digitech RP 55V. It sounds really good, but I'm worried I might wear it out to quick. smile.gif

It seems to have gotten some good reviews. What do you mean by wearing it out too quick? I think most of these things are fairly sturdy these days, but I could be wrong of course.

Well the whole thing is made of plastic. It actually sounds really good though.

Well, I'd say be gentle with it and use it for as long as it lasts. In the meanwhile you could save up for something else? I can't really suggest anything though, I'm a bit out of that game.

That will do fine as a stomp box replacement and the modulation/delay effects are quite workable smile.gif A cheap alternative to spending wads more on stomps!!

But yeah, it's really cheaply built and I've seen them break easily. Even the pedals can snap off. Of course, it all depends on budget and you didn't mention a budget? For the money you are looking at something plastic and cheap in that range sadly.

If you could scrounge up $250 or so you could get a used eleven rack off ebay smile.gif
