Hey!

Im a 27 year old man from a town called Tromsø, the town is located up in the northern part of Norway. Ever since i was a child i have had the desire to play the guitar, but have been lacking the will and patience to continue for longer periods of time. That combined with a passion and love for gaming has kept me at bay for too many years tongue.gif
So it has taken me some time to come to the realization that i rather spend my time learning to play the guitar, better late then never right?

My highest hopes and dreams is to be a really skilled guitar player in everyway possible. Right now i would consider myself a beginner at the highest so theres a long way to go... wink.gif

I basically listen to all kinds of music, but my real passion lies with all kinds of metal and classical music.

Favorite bands: Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom, Killswitch Engage, In Flames, Arch Enemy (the old stuff), Scar Symmetry, Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Blood Stain Child and many many more...

My weapons of choice (guitars i own) is as follows:

ESP LTD Alexi 200, white Alexi Laiho signature model
Ibanez RGR465M Candy Apple Red, limited edition with Dimarzio pickups that actually arrived today, yay! biggrin.gif
B.C. Rich The Deceiver, limited edition from 2003 i believe it was.
Cort Acoustic Black guitar of some sort.

It is a pleasure to be here with so many likeminded individuals, and hopefully I can make lots of progress following the wonderfull excersises on this webpage.

With kind regards

Mikael

Hallo Mikael, welcome to GMC smile.gif

You and I are on the same boat: being in our late twenties and trying to master the guitar. It can be done, just check out GMC member maharzan, he has made great progress in the past year. You came to the right place, as there are many lessons on here that will suit your needs. Just keep in mind that your mind isn't as spongy as it was when you were a teenager, so don't get too frustrated when you have a hard time learning something. It'll take a little more effort but it can be done.

Peace

Welcome Mikael. You just need some motivation, anything can be achieved.

Wow Mudbone, thanks mate. I didn't expect that. smile.gif

I played for 15+ years before I decided to seriously learn it properly. I thought I was intermediate guitarist (well at least I was one of the best in my school days ha) but then when I joined GMC and tried level 3 lesson, man that was hard. I wasn't even qualified as a beginner really. I practiced like 2 weeks for one lesson and then hard to turn on the video camera for 2 straight hours to get 1 good take of 30-40 secs.. I was that bad even after all those years. Anyway, I kept doing it very seriously knowing how bad I was. After a year, I got better and could really feel it although I am no where close to being a pro. I concentrated more on techniques and can quite do AP very well and also can do sweeping and tapping now (I never tried these before). I still need to learn a lot of theory and composition skills. smile.gif

Anyway, Good Luck to you and GMC has been really helpful for me and hope it will for you too. smile.gif Cheers!!
