Guitar Necks C,u And V

Hi,

I've been curious about V neck shaped guitars such as Dean, etc. What are the advantages and disadvantages for this design? Are they better for lead or rhythm playing or both?

I've played C and U shape necks and was curious if the V necks were easier to play than say my Ibanez wizard II neck?

I must say this site has some of the best lessons i've ever seen offered on the net. I particularly enjoy the abundance of metal lessons.

A little about me. When i first picked up guitar i learned mostly from books and other friends that played guitar. This was enough to be in a band that was well received locally. Unfortunately after 2 years the band dissolved. I continued on writing my own songs for a few years and finally slowly stopped playing. Recently i've picked it up again and can't believe i ever stopped! It's true what they say about out of sight, out of mind. My guitars were in my closet, so i didn't think about playing.

I'm now starting from the beginning again with everything to get rid of any bad habits and tighten up my some what sloppy technique. I'm sure the lesson on GMC will be a great help.
