From Groove 3 http://www.groove3.com/str/mixing-rock.html

Hosted By Kenny Gioia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenny_Gioia

Kenny is sent the wav files to a pop rock song and takes you through his mixing process in great detail, from structuring the session to make things quicker, track preparation and correction, using VCA Groups or Busses, effects, mix bus compression, vocal and drum mixes, vocal harmonies and backgrounds, guitars, bass, automation, right the way through to the final mix

I'm only part way through the tutorial (it's nearly 7 hours long) and it's seriously blowing my mind. Some things are real wow factor things and epiphanies of cool, others I'm thinking 'I can't hear the difference' (this could be due to the headphones I've been using to listen to this on).

I'm getting a real schooling and appreciation of the craft with this, I now know why my tracks at home have sucked, my finished product was his starting point.

I can't wait to get a new DAW computer to start experimenting and putting this stuff into practice.

Hey man, sound interesting. Iam also digging more into mixing, metal basically. what i can recomend is the gerslutz.com forum and the Andy Sneap forum if you are interested.

Regarding the the groove 3 site, is it possible to download the videos or can you just acess them via internet?

BR,
Denis

Excellent tutorial site in general, I watched one on Waves and it's super-effective.
