GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Sold My First 11 Rack Preset Pack To Choptones!

Posted by: Todd Simpson Apr 9 2015, 10:52 PM

Happy to announce that the TWT BRUTAL PACK will be coming out via CHOPTONES.com in the near future. This will be my first preset pack through choptones. The presets in the pack are very similar to presets that I've shared here on GMC for the 11 rack. They will be very CHUNKY smile.gif Just wanted to share the good news!

that's excellent smile.gif nice one duder!
will you be making a demo vid for their website?

Posted by: Todd Simpson Apr 10 2015, 09:54 AM

I'm guessing they will make the vid, but I'd be happy to if they are up for it wink.gif They bought my first pack but it's got to go through a review/tweak process before they release it so it will be a few weeks evidently till it's up. In the meantime, 11 racks are going for the same price as my old pro tone overdrive on ebay.

That's Awesome Todd!
It'll be really cool when you see a movie or play a game and hear 'your' tone/patch.

That would be very cool smile.gif This set is the BRUTAL PACK so the they are all crazy high gain patches with wads of metallic grinding crunch. I"m pretty sure i could recognize them in the wild, I hope so at least!! smile.gif

Congratulations Todd smile.gif Really awesome

Is this one of the tones out of your preset pack? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg1XuM1HqzU

YES!!! smile.gif But that one had to be changed for them so it's not going to be part of the pack now. However, if you would like to ahve it I'd be happy to give it to you. Do you have an 11 rack?

Todd

Unfortunately not, I have a Gnx2 which I currently like quite alot smile.gif

The GNX2 is a great unit smile.gif When you are ready to add another one, think about the 11 rack smile.gif Probably very affordable by then.

EDIT: The one thing that I don't like about the GNX is that, simply because they are much older units, they don't have USB and there isn't an easy way to share/trade patches. It's really too bad as I"ve got hundreds of hours invested in my "hyper models" and they sound just amazing imho, especially for a unit more than a decade old wink.gif

I definitely agree with you, that would be truly awesome smile.gif
Anyway I found that you can view other patches from users here. http://www2.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_list_patches.asp?productid=8
To open the patches you will be needing a program to open .g2p files here is a one program that can do that http://www2.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_view_thread.asp?productid=8&thread_id=1040386853

I remember back in the 90's I was able to get patches through midi. Being a kid I didn't have a soundcard, can't remember exactly but probably I made a midi-to-joystick type cable? tongue.gif

Midi and s/pdif are probably on every soundcard these days, might work?

Just a HUGE pain to get the patches off of the device. Folks sometimes just wrote all the settings down to share patches but that doesn't work well when using hypermodels.

I'm sure it's possible to hack something together to get the patches off. Just a big headache to do it. It's sooooo easy on new stuff like the 11 rack.
