What the title says. I'm looking for a pair of Monitors or speakers that are flat and are good to mix and also bedroom jamming.

My room is not acoustically treated. It's a very small room.

Also, should I get a rack amplifier + passive monitor/cabinet (for live playing) or an active monitor/cab?

If Your room isn't treated than I hope there is a huge mess at least smile.gif Most of the issues will be gone but good monitors positioning and...lot's of random stuff in the room. Making descent treatment is cash-taking and place-taking. Helmholtz resonators are big and usually need a few of those to get wanted low end absorbtion. I've through this last 6 months so what I can tell for sure...After I brought all my stuff to my new workspace, 80 % of isses were gone. Of course I have to be very careful with 40-60 Hz range but in this case I trust the meters to avoid too much cut away. Also...this issue isn't much visible in the precise place I'm listening to a mix. Seems like the "interfering point" in more in the middle of the room.

I don't know about the budget but personally I would go for Tannoy or KRK Rokit. Seems like Adam made some cheaper series too but...haven't tried one below A7

As for live gigs I would go for a passive cab and power amp in the rack. This will make You able play on someone elses cab if any emergency situation comes.

I would get something that you could put up and take down from your walls, If you are at the point that you want to get the best out of your mixing , I would not let this slip.If you could, I would take a recording( of something similar to my style) to a music store and play it thru different speakers

+1 what DARIUS said smile.gif Maybe add the ALESIS MKII active in there as they are in the same price/performance range roughly. I'd say go for the active speakers if possible smile.gif Gets the amp closer to the speakers (less cable runs with amped signal helps reduce some noise a bit) and
less connections to make smile.gif And just a bit easier to deal with.
