This song's focus is mainly about Timing thus the name "Time Control" (and prolly because I like Doctor who) lol... this past week i've been practicing with a metronome (something that I've rarely done) one of my least used tools just may be my best guide as a musician period. anyway
wanted to share ... https://soundcloud.com/vulpinetekneq/time-control |

Hey mate! The improvement can be heard of course, but, tell me could you post a version of the same recording having a metronome track with it or a drum track?
What do you say? |

Hi Vulpine! It's great to see you working hard on your weak point. I have to say that you timing is very close to perfection on this song. You did a great job! Could you please share with us which things you worked and how could you improve your timing as fast?

well two artist's id have to credit is Buckethead and Marco Sfogli listening to how buckethead approaches his soloing and one thing i noticed that might be greatly overlooked with his soloing is his Timing when he's soloing or improvising he's not just hoisting out licks and runs all over the place he's very rhythmic and is mostly always on the beat of the song ..... like 1..2..1..2..1..2..1.2 like that ... to try to adapt to that way of playing I turned on a metronome and just practiced soloing only playing within the tempo/ or beat and I noticed it takes disicipline to play like that but i also noticed how proffessional it sounds when ur playing within the tempo and beat Listening to Marco Sfogli the way marco approaches a phrase I think is thats to play a theme then play that theme again but either add/remove or end the theme differently on the second time and then maybe play that theme an octave higher and stuff like that so Excellent! So you started to concentrate and analyze rhythm. The results are very notorious. Keep on this path! -------------------- My lessons
