GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Trip Hop Sounds And Sampes?

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Mar 26 2012, 09:09 PM

Hey guys! I have to compose something in the style of Portishead for a short artistic video. I have to create a short tune instrumental that includes Trip Hop sounds. I will use reason but I'm looking for some cool samples in this style. Do you have any ideas?

Gabe, do you have all the 'Reason Refill' packs?
There are 'Abstract Atmospheric' and 'Ethereal Atmospheres', there are also some very usable sounds in the 'Industrial Noise Collection1,2 &3'.

There are also a lot of Loops available from Magix, mainly in WAV format.

If there's something specific that you want let me know and I'll see what I have in my collection!!

In addition to the Reason refills above there are also a couple of good sample libraries:

Elab 'Smokers delight'

Samplelab 'Lucious grooves'.

From what I remember Portishead relied a bit on sampling oldish dub Reggae and R&B records and downbeat.

Thanks Tony! I have the track finished but this helps for future tunes. I used Reason and some fxs that I found searching with google.
