I've started this in a new thread rather than posting here >>> https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...c=62688&hl=

I'm hoping it will give some of you the inspiration to make that change, it's the best thing I've ever done, I feel liberated sitting in my new space, it took longer than I thought it would but it was well worth it.

Some of the guitars have changed and my Helix is replaced with TH-U and an FCB1010. It just doesn’t look like the same room now. I feel inspired.

Old messy studio area.

The third monitor isn't in place in this one but it shows the rest of the room.

New Zen area wink.gif I just need to move the tweed Fender case from beneath the desk when I go into the attic tomorrow smile.gif

Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in instalments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day's success.

I know the feeling. As you know I've been tidying up too!

I still easily get things looking untidy in here though, so I do need to be more conscious about continuously keeping it tidy. I already notice a few things building up slowly. I need to tell myself that it's okay to just spend 2 minutes a day tidying up. It really doesn't take long if it's just a daily thing.

I have a little box on top of the Lian-Li computer with some USB leads in, normally those leads would be on the desk. I'd used all the last night and normally would have left them out. I tinned how long it took me to put them away (I'm starting to get anal), it was twenty seconds. smile.gif

Exactly. As said, 2 minutes and you're very far into tidying up. I try to tell myself the same thing in the kitchen. Toasting some bread? Something in the microwave? Well, see how far I can get in 2 minutes of cleaning up. Usually it's suprisingly far. But more often than not I've had the bad habit of going back to my computer for 2 minutes and then back to the kitchen. Silly me! laugh.gif

Thanks Todd,

Yeah, I love it. I've had to shuffle some things on the desk for when the S49 is in use but it's still just as tidy.

I need a Dummies Guide To Komplete Kontrol and a Dummies Guide To Synthesisers laugh.gif It's kinda going to be a side project learning how to use it, I may even use Albeton Live, more learning biggrin.gif

Cheers

Shuffled some things around for when this beast is in use. This thing makes my M-Audio Oxygen 49 feel like a toy. I've learnt more about the Native Instruments software by messing with this for half an hour than I ever did using it with my M-Audio.

It's going to be a steep learning curve but I don't mind, gotta keep that brain working.

I'm hoping to use it for helping with theory by using piano theory, I know it hasn't got 88 keys but the theory will help. This also has a scale function that uses the guide lights. I also want to use it for the creativity workshops if they return and my Serenity Dimension project eventually.

If you use a keyboard and have the spare money, I recommend getting one. I don't know if I'd have bought one had I not sold a load of redundant stuff from my studio/man cave but it didn't feel like I was spending anything. The money had gone into my PayPal account and I used it to get this. I'm thinking long term. I got it for not much more than they're going for on eBay and I don't have the hassle of relying on the seller to de-authorise it plus I got triple loyalty points from Anderton's (the Captain) which is like getting 3% off.

The screens fully interact with the NI Software, they're not touch screens, the knobs are touch sensitive though and when you touch them the screen gives you info until you remove you finger, if you have to money I recommend it. I don't understand a lot about loops, pads etc, and I haven't worked out how to get it to integrate with Reaper but you get a free license of Ableton Lite which looks very strange after using Reaper for so long but I may learn Ableton for my Serenity Dimension stuff which I want to work on, mainly for a new challenge.

Have a look at this quick video for a breakdown of the S series from NI. As said, I don't understand a lot of the terminology yet but I'm just going to take my time to learn a little bit every other day or so. I learnt a lot just fiddling with it yesterday. It's a bit in at the deep end for me but I've got it now and it should serve me for years and as I grow, I know it's got me covered and I shouldn't need anything else to replace it any time soon.

Very powerful gear. These things take time for one to integrate in to the pipeline. The good news is you'll grow in to it smile.gif Looks very similar to the MASCHINE interface as well. A great bit of kit to add for any studio and it looks to be well integrated in to yours. Congrats!
