Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey guys! 2nd Rec post ;-) Cool lesson Gab, I really enjoyed it! I took the "liberty" of adding the d# chord during the thrash riff (i kind of like it! hehehe I really enjoyed that last improvised part! It adds a lot to the tune. Well done!
 This lesson is very fast and your right hand down picking is not comfortable yet with this tempo. That's why there are many parts of this lesson that need to be polished, from the intro to the last riff that you've played I note that there are moments when you go tight that many parts when your playing is not at tempo or not totally clean. This is not regarding the technique that you are using, this is related to the fact that you need more training and to make your hand and mind get used to this speed. I recommend you to practice this one on smaller blocks and at a slower tempo to be able to play the whole thing totally tight. Once you achieve it at a slower tempo, start increasing tempo gradually every day. Be sure that you'll master this one with diary practice but you have to be patient and start slower. Hey this is a pretty cool take. As the lads have said, you need to gain some stamina for the down picking sections because there's times where you get left behind the beat, especially during the single note riffing at the beginning.
I made a simple lesson to work through for stamina building, have a go at that for a week or so and see how you get on: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Stamin...-2-Downpicking/ You could devise your own riff progression to work with but the idea is mixing rests in with work so that you don't get fatigued quickly and you can continue working at higher tempos. Try to be more consistent with palm muting as well, for example at 0:30 you lose the chunk of the palm muting. Apart from those areas you're quite solid ! |
