If you want the blues the best sounding harp to get is a key of A or G. I prefer G but get both, there are a few different makes, Hohner is a good quality harp maker though and not too expensive. I found some great lessons on YouTube just do a search on there to learn the basics. What I find best is to listen to harmonica music and try get the same sound as the artist. Sonny Boy Williamson II was probably the best blues harmonica player that ever lived, he sometimes stuck the whole harp in his mouth and played . This is a great instrument to learn, because its not hard to find 10 - 30 minutes practice a day. And if you get a harmonica rack you will be able to jam with yourself and your acoustic. Good Luck! - Hemlok yeah, ill try to get that rack, that way i can improve both stuff at the same time - Awesome! - More than enough I have about 6 scattered around the house, so i pick em up and have a blow when i walk past them, and a couple at work too. says that depending on how you hold the harmonica, like opening and closing your hand over where the sound comes from gives it some vibrato, or something like that. |
