Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Cool!

To me it looks good from a technical perspective.

I do however get the feeling you have rushed the practicing of this one a little, and your left hand sync could be improved (would also give you better tone).

Having said this, your tone is extremely clean and you guitar is loud in the mix - so every little detail can be clearly heard (which is a great thing when practicing). This could also explain why I am clearly hearing subtle mistakes.

I still think your playing feels pretty solid and I will give you a 7.

Nicely done!!! This has a LOT of descending pedal point bits in it which can be a real challenge to play. You are doing a good job here of keeping on top of the beat and keeping your hands in synch. If you lose synch, this entire thing falls apart. So synch is very important. Also you are keeping string noise at bay which is good. You are playing with much less gain/distortion than some folks use on this which I think is good as it allows us to hear your playing. Also, the guitar is nice and loud in the mix which is great as we sometimes get rec takes with the guitar to quiet. You have this lesson pretty well in hand and are ready to move on to something else imho. Solid 7 from me!!!

Hi friend,

Nice! Your playing is clean here and it seems that this lesson is a very good choice for you. I would continue practicing it for some more days, combined with other alternate picking lessons to make your technique more consistent. At this point, you sound clean, but insecure, so some more days of practice will make this one sound more convincing.

By the way, this is not an easy lesson and the most difficult part is to make it sound clean, so congrats mate, keep going!!

Hey there and thx for choosing my lesson.

Generally I have positive thoughts on your performance becasue most of notes sound nice and clear...though I may not be satisfied with your tone. Now there's a variety of factors affecting the tone. Guitar, pickups and amp is a personal preference and I think we have nothing to fix at this point. I belive it's the hand position and picks angles to search for improvements.

Your right hand looks a litte odd to me but I'm not shure it could be both - the cam angle and the "fish eye" lens. Personally I prefer to rest my right hand a little higher on the bride but I wanted to be fair so I reviewed your mechanics a few times and I rather see nothing wrong. The hand sync Kris mentioned i more of a practicse thing i guess.

I think you could consider releasing your right middle, ring and pinky fingers. There's a cutally no need to waste even little portion of strength and tension to keep the "squeezed" inside your palm. Sometimes when they a re flattened, they work great as a noise gate for high strings

There are wrong notes around 0:44. this ringing powerchord should not sound like B5 but an E5 instead! Fret b note on the g3 string instead of f# note on the D4 string smile.gif

3rd part is generally the hardest so I belive you could spend some more time on figuring out these string skipping spots because it's visibly weaker than the first 2/3 of the lesson - both timing and precision.

Besides these I haven't spot anything more to complain. Well done!
