The Lone Plains Drifter, Sensible Jones, dismounts from his horse and enters the Saloon.
Slowly he walks to the Bar, his boot heels echoing around the now still Saloon. He takes a shot of Ol' Red Eye and turns to face the group of Cowboys already seated around a table.
Purposely he strides over to the table, knocks back the shot, reaches down and slowly draws back the flanks of his long Coat. He then drops his loaded six-strings onto the Collab............

DeGroot, man I am gonna stop listening to your takes before I post mine. biggrin.gif Yours make me rethink things!!! Nice job, as always!

Disclaimer: This is the first time I have been able to use a slide for more than 5 minutes without getting irritated and throwing it. laugh.gif And it is also not exactly what I was hoping for and had to piece a couple takes together. I just could not get it to come together.
Cosmin, I took you comments in the last collab and really tried to apply them in this one. Although the slide may not be exactely to pitch I think the bends may be better and the licks I think have a resolution or a path, a purpose. Hopefully you will agree. Anyway, this was such a fun backing I found myself playing the backing a couple times throughout. This is my style all the way. Although it's not as perfect as I would like, I put a lot of effort into it, hopefully it comes through at least a little. wink.gif

Dude, this is solid! I hear you about the slide (rarely play it myself) I think we both managed to pull out some "wild west" slides here. laugh.gif Of course, AK Rich is all guns blazing with the steel pedal. Wow, talk about dusting off the big guns. Jones also has his slide out and having Billy the Kid thinking twice about being quick on the draw. Okay, I'll leave the narrative to Sheriff Mark and Debuty Cosmin.. biggrin.gif But really enjoyed the rest of the takes and vibe here. Looking forward to the mix once the dust settles.

Hey vonhotch! I can hear a lot of spots where that slide sounds uber genuine! biggrin.gif Congrats man! I can't play with a slide if I needed to save my life doing it laugh.gif so I think you guys are doing a great job here! Wow - looking back on the takes, I think this will be a big big success! biggrin.gif

Also - keep in mind that today is the last day for the entries smile.gif At midnight, I will close it down, unless, there's anyone else announcing and able to submit till tomorrow the latest smile.gif

NIIIICE!!! cool.gif

....it was at that moment that the Lone Plains Drifter realized that he was not alone on this journey and that he had reached the crossroads where all of the other drifters had settled for their piece of the bounty. Each man there was a hunter and realized that they were not alone on the hunt this time, and by joining forces they would be an unstoppable force to be reckoned with! (Hmmm, was there a reference here?) What was drawing these gritty testosterone filled string slingers together? None other than the..... Southern Metal Collab, posted by the Marshall of these parts, a man called Cosmin"The Undertaker" Lupu, former outlaw string slinger turned law man. huh.gif

lol

Woah! that was some nice wranglin there pardner! Very Nice indeed!

....and from the far stretches of the Western territory rode a man atop a white stallion with spurs so shiny they would put a man blind.... this was none other than the bounty hunter known as Lightning Joe DeGroot. It's been said that when this man was so fast that when he rides into town after a bounty, its as if there were a flash of lightning across the sky.... cause once you heard the thunder it was too late.... dry.gif

There are some really cool southern sounding ideas in here, you sure you ain't from around these parts?? I liked the ambience this one produced brother...good stuff!

...and in walked Slavenko, the straight shootinest whiskey guzzling string slinger across 15 territories. Woulda been 16, but number 16 was a dry territory. He's also a man who was rumored to have out drew Doc Holiday in a showdown simply for the last shot of tequila, but he made Doc eat the worm. DOH! Although most men were foggy on who's side he was on, Marshall Lupu and I knew when it came down to go time that Slavenko had your back. Armed with two loaded six packs, he was not a man to cross! mellow.gif It's also rumored that he keeps a flask of rattle snake venom in his boot to mix with his whiskey just incase it ain't strong enough... ohmy.gif
