Music Notation/tab ?

Aug 18 2009, 08:48 PM	GMC:er Posts: 145 Joined: 20-January 07 From: Lakeland,Fl USA	Hi All, I bought a song book with notes and tab but parts of the songs appear not to be tabbed out. Above the part not tabbed reads Verse gtr.1 w/Riff A(2 times).Riff A is tabbed out so I know to play it 2 times.It also reads things like (F5),(Bb5),(Ab5) above the staff with no tab below it. These are notes not chords like riff a.There is a big difference in Riff A and these notes.There are 12 measures not tabbed out.The next 4 measures have tab below them.These 4 are totally different than the previous 12.Am I missing something or is this a part that i should not play in the first place? Im not a fully fledged reader of music, but I have enough basics to understand standard notation.
