Hi!
First off I'd like to thank Andrew and Pavel and everyone else who helped me figure out my mixing problem in Cubase SE 3. Unfortunately I have another problem now. I now have Cubase SX 3 and when I try to open EZ Drummer as a VST it isnt found. The only VST's found are the ones that came with Cubase SX 3. Do I need to re-install EZ Drummer or something?

If you installed it, try searching the folder where you`ve installed it in cubase vst instruments list and check it on. If the problem persist, reinstall.

There's a nice utility called VST Scanner made by VB Audio Software (www.vb-audio.com) GrowingDown1. Amongst various other things it can scan your system for plug ins and identify orphans, duplicates and other potential issues. Also, and helpfully here, it could find where you've placed the EZ Drummer dll etc.

For future though it's usually best if you place all your plug-ins in to a single folder as Bogdan says smile.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

I am 99% sure that the problem is the location of your EZdrummer *.dll file. When i had my system installed last time my *.dll's were in "C:\Program Files\VstPlugins" folder.

This time they are in this folder: "C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins"

See what *.dll's are recognized and put the rest into the same folder. You don't need to reinstall the program - just move the *.dll file to the correct folder.

Even better, you can add additional directories to the search path in Cubase - a little safer than moving files around as that may upset the uninstall prgrams.

The uninstaller never deletes the DLL file so you don't have to worry about it wink.gif

Thats true of the Cubase uninstall program for sure, it regards additional DLLs as none of its business, but most VSTs come with an uninstall program that will try and remove the DLL and may become upset if they can;t find it. Not the end of the world, but I like to keep things tidy!

Never happened to me! I was having troubles installing certain VST samples and did something wrong, the DLL was in the VSTplugins folder, and after uninstall of the VST it still remained there.

Well, who cares....just make sure you have your *.dll's in the right place wink.gif
