GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Px4d Power Supply...

Posted by: mattacuk Feb 2 2008, 01:09 PM

OK so I still dont have a power supply for my little "unit". I have been putting batterys in this thing nearly every 4 days and its eating up my cash blink.gif

Do any of my fellow GMC chums know if i can use just a standard AC adapter on this thing?

thanks!!! wink.gif

I guess if you dont find an AC adapter you could always use rechargable batteries.

Good one Matt.
You see,Dejan got the adapter with the unit while I haven't . sad.gif biggrin.gif
Anyhow, you can't use normal adapter for Pandora cause it needs
special type of jack called "Sony" jack, odd I know blink.gif
Voltage would be fine from regular adapter,
it's just that you'd need this special jack...
Have you searched for adapter on eBay or som?

I used rechargable batteries but it's much easier with adapter I must say. smile.gif

Well I have found out the adapter I need ; Korg KA193 4.5V Adapter

I have looked on google and ebay but nothing in the UK. There are plenty of U.S. stores offering the adapter but I dont know about shipping... why is life never easy ?d sad.gif

Posted by: Muris Feb 2 2008, 02:17 PM

Hey,glad you found it!!
Hope shipping isn't expensive to UK
and you have big chances to avoid customs since it's only adapter.
PLUS I believe adapter is less expensive in US than in UK I presume?

After reading the thread a question comes to my mind: they once told me at the local music store that I should get a "boss" adapter for my boss pedal, and I asked them if a normal (cheap) one would be ok. The guy there told me something about the boss adapters being "shielded" (maybe that was not exactly the word he used), but he said that adapters for musical instruments were somewhat different than regular ones, and that regular ones could damage the gear...

I still don't have a clue why is that or if it's even true...

All you have to look up is voltage,mA,and of course + and -.
If jack fits you should be ok.

Ok guys well I found the right adapter on gak.co.uk

They wanted £12 for the adapter and £10 for postage which is seriously steep.. I paid it because really I had no choice sad.gif

Posted by: Muris Feb 3 2008, 06:39 PM

Sorry about the price Matt sad.gif
But hey, from now you'll be having tons of fun without checking batteries!!!! smile.gif
