I paly mostly metal and rock, and i will be using the whammy bar quite often. I love steve vai, but I don't know of the jem is worth saving up another $1000. that kind of money isn't that easy for me to get. and is the razorback even worth the $1100?

same for me, maybe you could go for an ibanez around $1000.
th thing about razorback is that you couldn't really bring a razorback with a pop, blues or jazz band, while the superstrat shape is more versatile, and cooler in my opinion cool.gif

Ibanez 2550z...check it out.....one of the best bang for the buck guitars out there.
or a 3520z......nice...(like borat)

Or one of my personal favorites...s2170 prestige....These have a great neck and the z trem is awsome.

Just my 2cents

Think in long term. If you buy a cheap guitar then you'll have to change the pickups, the floyd, the tuners...maybe if you wait and buy a good one is worth the effort.

Ok heres an even better deal you can get a Jackson RR24 for about $1450.00 and put some EMG pickups in it. Dean Razorbacks are just heavy and really to me are just all for show get a Jackson man. Nuff Said.

These guitars have quite a difference in price... I would definitely go for the JEM if you can buy it. It is more versatile and high end guitar. Also you can check out other Ibanez guitars is 1000-1500$ range, there are few models that will also do the job great.
