Hi all
So we have just completed our first week in our practice group. The lesson to be learned was Gabriel Leopardi's "80's Hard Rock Lesson", so first of all a big "Thank You" to you. Here is the original lesson. Anyways, this is my attempt to do the lesson, and what better way to get feedback than posting it right here on GMC. First i have to point out the fact that due to problems with my hammer-ons and pull-offs ALL week, i decided to skip these and sort of improvise instead. This was decided to be able to finish the lesson in time, and actually have something show at all. What i am interested in is comments on the actual guitar playing.. whats cool.. whats not cool.. what needs some more attention.. you know, just comments, so i am able to take these comments to me, and use them to become a better guitarist. (you dont need to tell me that the HO's and PO's are missing.. ) Other things im interested in, is the video itself.. is the video/audio okay.. lighting.. background.. etc.. Nothing else to say than THANK you all for taking time for me to make me a better player.. this is MUCH appreciated.. Lesson #1 (80's Hard Rock Lesson) /Cheers edit: the video was private.. changed to public This post has been edited by -Zion-: Jul 6 2008, 04:38 PM |

You did great mate, every note is heard loud and clear. More tightness when executing could sound even better, like for instance more legato and less staccato playing. Other than that it is great!

Well I think you did a great job on the lesson, everything is played right (though it sounds a little raw without HO and PO).Also you are missing vibrato on some notes (first licks) and I know you can play it...Remember that it adds a lot to expression and overall presentation. Also I can notice just that you are a little more tensed up when playing than you should be (relax and don't worry about the recording light)
Great job mate !! I didn't know this practice groups idea was going on..Its great !! p.s. audio is pretty well , maybe guitar should be a little louder though video is ok , I think you need more light (Did you just use daylight ?? ) Add some lamps etc, more light the better This post has been edited by Bogdan Radovic: Jul 8 2008, 11:31 PM -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

This is cool. Thank you Bogdan. I will definately be incorporating your advice in the future.. In regards to the video itself. Yes, just regular daylight on a cloudy day.. haha.. I think the practice groups idea is great. This is the first lesson we've done, but we comment and complement eachother as we go along with the lesson. Trying to help eachother out with tricks and what not. Not sure how the other groups are going, but it would be great to have a section on GMC committed to practice groups. Sort of like the Virtual bands. Right now we are using Google Groups to have our own place to talk, but maybe it'll happen if the groups turn out to be great (and so far i think they are). Practice groups is a very cool idea and I think it deserves its spot somewhere in the forum...(to eliminate need of google groups) -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net
