Just recorded this video of me playing some improvised lead over an 80s rock ballad backing track.

I got this backing track from www.freshbt.com. Really great backing track and kind of reminds me of "Cry for You" by Andy Timmons.

This was my first take and my fingers were slow because its rather cold in my house, so please forgive any mistakes. And see if you catch the blatant rip off of John Mayer's "Belief" solo in the beginning.

Sounds good man!
I have used that backing track too. It's a good one to experiment some melodic ideas.
Are you recording the audio and video direct at the same time or did you have to synch up the vid and audio after?
Are you using a macbook?

Hey, thanks!

Yes, I used a macbook.

And what I did was open up iMovie and start capturing video, then switched to garage band to record the audio using the UX2 Pod Farm plug in. Once I finished recording both, I just lined up the audio from Garage Band with the video in iMovie and muted the video's original audio.

Great solo, really! Just to add, at 00:40 play legato instead of picking, it will sound better.
And that sound of guitar....I don't like it very much, maybe it's amp or something...
Well played, and really great solo.

Yeah, I've noticed that, also about the sound of the guitar. I've had problems with the electronics before but for some reason it tends to not have that great of a sound.

Thanks for the advice on the legato, now that you mention it I do agree that would probably sound better.

And thanks for the kind words!
