hi Pedja

as always i enjoyed it alot and in fact that i again lost some hair on that one (hope i wont be looking like you in future *hehehe*) it makes lots of fun and as many other here told already, it pushes me some inches further, and i am sure if i do some more of these collabs i can learn more and more.
in fact that here are some real great players in that collab (and of course in others too) compared to me (i think i am still kind of beginner) i think my take is not so bad at all (just for me ;-))
i am not that kind of shredder, i prefer the musical and melodic parts and thats what i could learn in your collabs

THX again for the comments and i hope that i can participate in the next ones also

cheers
Harry

Thank you Pedja for your comments and this nice class room style collab.

You can not believe how much this sequence approach to build and transpose licks helped me already. I have applied the same concept on other chord progressions and it's a great and fun way to discover possible note choices over each chord. The concept is easy and kind of obvious when approaching a new progression, but to actually do it with the purpose to upload a take is a really rewarding experience. To focus on one thing only helps a lot to be more conscious of what to do. I hope you will continue like this with many more collabs. Of course i will subscribe to your next class smile.gif

Thank you !!

EDIT : ... btw, i would like to click the auto sign up button as well ... if possible!!

You are right Andy, I can't believe what this did for you biggrin.gif
Actually when I was learning and figuring out approaches to improve, this kind of things were very helpful to me, it created one of those AHA moments - if you know what I mean smile.gif

Now imagine doing sequence over tune that has modulations ? Takes you to whole other level as you have to think of different scales and voice leading !

Thanks Andy and I will put you down for Auto sign up thingy biggrin.gif
QUOTE (Velvet Roger @ Mar 3 2009, 10:45 AM) *
I also observed the same thing Andy, such a specific collab really makes you think about things smile.gif

Couldn't agree more Roger. Your take was great demonstrating not only sequence but development as well. Well done man smile.gif

Hi Harry
If you want to become master you have to loose something - what do you need hair for anyways ? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I couldn't agree more with you on level of some guitar players. Yes there is great players but I don't consider anybody to be different when I am grading specific things. For example you can be great shredder but if you can't pull of soloing with sequence then you are still a beginner. Same thing for future collabs. I am planing to do one with Arpeggio/Chord tone soloing and one with Pacing (play rest approach) in March. Imagine what that will do to people who are used to play constantly ? wink.gif

I hope you will sign up for future ones, there is always place if you are up for it.

Pedja

Tolek (8:02 - 8:34)

1st sequence :Very strong sequence, add 9 arpeggio ideas always work wonders. Excellent work Tolek.
2nd sequence : I like the idea but execution is not so great. Sound has a lot of gain and low eq's so its very hard to hear what you are actually playing there. I will say good work as it is obvious that you did sequence here wink.gif
3rd sequence : Excellent sequence idea. String skipping and imediate question and answer phrasing , low vs high register. Strong melodic choice - great work Tolek.
4th sequence : Interesting ! Monte did bends into Roots you did bends into Diatonic 3rds. Both work great. Great work Tolek !

Overall Tolek you passed this class without any problems. Melodic choice was strong in all examples and sequence was there definitely. One thing that I would look for is that 2nd sequence and the execution of it. Send me a PM if you don't feel discussing it here man.
As you know you are signed up for life, so I will auto sign you for two collaborations I plan to do this month smile.gif

Thank you for your take Tolek !

Thanks for commenting, mate! As for the 2nd sequence, I wanted to sound like that. My idea was to get something unstoppable that has no no no break in it and the notes are as near as possible. Sure, Legato would be a possibility, too, but I wanted to try this one.

Anyway, I thank you for this cool collaboration and I´m looking forward to the next one! smile.gif

Sorry about not reading your introduction post correctly Pedja, I have a tendency to rush into things sometimes. You can hear a new keyboard solo when I have some spare time.

Probably. We'll have to see about that because I've got my keyboard at my mums place.
