Hi guys!
Welcome to my first collaboration!

The backing track on which you will played is something that sounds mostly like pop, has funky rhythm feel, and progressive harmony.
Here is the backing track: Attached File  Melodic_progressive_pop_collab.mp3 ( 531.55K ) Number of downloads: 310

Tempo is 120 bpm, and progression (E min, B min) x 3, (C#min6, B min6) x 2, (Bmin9, Dmin9, Bmin9, Amin9)
Although harmony seams complicated at first, everything is pretty simple. You play B minor or B minor pentatonic, and on the second part, B melodic minor. There is a bass line that goes over second part, B, A#, A, G#, you will hear it clearly, you can add those notes ass passing notes.

As far as style is concerned, play jazz, funk, soft rock, simple melody lines are great, blues scale lick could do the job also.
On the second part, which is more rhythmically aggressive, try to come up with some rhythmical patterns, that would fit perfectly.

For those who want to go little bit further, more advanced players, it is good idea to try modulations in second part(B min9, Dmin9, A min9).
3 different scales, B, D and A.

Most importantly, try to come up with some melodies, nice phrases you could repeat, and yes, repetitions would be good also!

Deadline is extended to March 31, and number of participants 20.

I am looking forward to listen your ideas! smile.gif

Enjoy! smile.gif

Don't worry, this is more about melody, you don'have to do shreding, simple melodies would be fine, you can repeat them, and so on.
B minor is the minor scale(or Bmin pentatonic), in the second part B melodic minor would fit great!

Guys, this is very simple! I hope I didn't scare you with harmonies, but, you don't have to think harmonically, just keep one scale in mind and experiment.
