Just finished remixing this, and the final mix came out great I think. I needed to beef up the low end more and I think I got a good balance in here. Check it out on SoundCloud or Youtube!

The writing and arrangement and playing is quite good. The mix sounds good too! I would like to hear the guitars a bit more if possible. The drums are working but might be a tad hot in the mix relative to the other sources. I'm guessing the drums are VST/Software (Ez drummer/BFD, etc.), or loops, which means you usually have to take great pains to not make them end up sound like software drums or loops. There is a china boy cymbal in the song that sorta sticks out in this regard. It may need it's own channel, and it's own compressor / fx if possible. |

Have a look at the instrument balance and in particular consider taking the drum bus down relative to the guitar and voc. Doesn't need to be too much but enough to get them to sit further back. I'd also suggest experimenting at mastering with versions that have the voc up and down relative to this mix - I think it may need the voc up but experiment. Excellent job with this song. I cannot comment on the mix too much because of the current crappy speakers, but what I hear is a lot of reverb on the vocals, possibly too much. I could be wrong tho?
