I think they made the right choice, the contest was mostly about showmanship and Ed ripped it up on that department and also showed some great technique
Muris shoud have been a close 2nd though 
4th just isn't enough!

Obviously Muris' entry was good but it wasn't entertaining like a lot of other entries (ie didnt dress up or anything).

Hehe, Ed was pretty good!
But Muris was so much better, imo... Congratulations with beeing top 5 in this competition, anyway! People should start notice that you're on the top in most of these competitions soon ^^
Makes me think though.... At one point, all guitarists are equally "good".. But some guitarists evolve their own style which sends them over the top that is the huge "pile" of guitarists

Muris`s playing was unreal, i can`t watch videos 2-3 but i suspect they can`t be compared to Muris! Winner was very good, but i`ve say Muris is better

Pathetic. Obviously the judges were talentless, with no sense for melody.
Sure edtoshred is cool, but it's nothing like what muris composed.

I think the guy who came third was the best it sounded like smooth videogame track but Muris's entry was by far the most shreddy

I bet muris would have gotten higher up if he had jumped arround a bit because it was mostly a performance contest, but he shredded his way to fourth place by sitting down so congrats!!!

Just now watched videos 2 and 3, they had loaded somehow .. I must admit that guy from Japan has soo little hands and fingers, that make me laugh But he`s playing was very cool, better than 2nd guy and even 1st, IMO

I got an idea for an entry. Dress up like an Asian geek with tiny hands and fall out of the tree while doing your entry... (no offense to Asians nor geeks nor people with tiny hands!:D)

I guess it should be kinda default that at least the top five entries are cool since this was a world wide competition.
Ed had some great melodies and I wouldn't complain if he won in a different competition, but not here.
Yes, Muris, for next time my advice would be to
1. Buy a Dean (or whatever brand the issue is about)
2. Play slower so that everyone can catch up with the melody
3. To start with: fall off a tree or smash something around you
4. Exclude the 8 finger tapping and other fancy techniques
5. Do some stupid faces in front of the camera so that people think you have "style".
Anyway, congrats for you 4th place. You deserved MORE

The standard of playing in the comp was very high and I must admit there is not much between 1st to 4th. You would have come first imo tho.
Edit: Lol only just noticed on reviewing your video Muris is are you using some sort of capo on the guitar? Not only that you have the audacity to surreptitiously slide it up just before your tapping section .....I doff my cap to you sir..

It´s a sock or something similiar to damp the other strings to avoid useless string noise.

Sounds odd but I indeed feel a relief with 4th place.
1st place means endorsement with Dean
and I already have an endorsement,MK,my good friend runs it
and I would feel realy bad to ruin all that.
Plus Dean guitars(shape) are mostly metal orientated
and I rarely see myself as a metal dude.
However it was great experience and I'm honoured that
Dean stuff gave me 4th place among tons of awesome players
from all around the world!!!
