GMC Forum _ Introduce Yourself ! _ Hello!

Posted by: DanielM Jun 20 2006, 04:26 PM

I'm a 16 (17 on friday) year old guitar player living in the UK. I'm in the middle of getting my A-levels.

I first picked up a guitar about 5 years ago, and after about a year of playing and lack of serious progress i gave up for a good 2 and a half years. About 18 months ago i started playing again and in the past 6 months i've been getting serious! laugh.gif

the shred masterclass lessons on UG along with kris's amazing abilities motivated me to go to freelicks.net and i found my way here. Just payed and now signed up to the forum.

i downloaded your band artifex's album and its cool btw.

i look forward to being able to speak to the master. your an inspiration and i like how you make difficult solos easy to learn and practice.

hello everyone smile.gif

[The Master responds:]

Heya Daniel, wellcome to the GMC!

Can't tell you how glad I am you picked up the guitar - would have been a shape put it down forever... now GO PRACTICE!!!!!!

/Kris

hey kris. cant tell you how cool it is to actually speak to you.

im playing right now actually. i do all my practicing at my computer. the amps interfere with the damn monitor though >:<

im just going through your kirk hammet lesson. i keep going back to curious coincidence though in between lessons. that solo has took up like 6 hours of my day everyday for the past month.

biggrin.gif Can't tell you how rewarding it's going to be if you keep practicing like that! smile.gif

well its not quite as much as steve vai (8+ hours come on!) but im rather happy with the progress i have made since you released those UG lessons. i have probably doubled my skill in a month

out of interest how long do you spend practicing? i mean i know you spend a lot of your time making lessons and performing with artifex, but as far as just sitting down and playing goes, how much?

Sorry man, but sweden was really great in the second half.. They were much better than england. 38 years without victory against sweden now biggrin.gif

Posted by: DanielM Jun 20 2006, 10:52 PM

yes they played very well and its a shame as we were so close to beating you.

was a very tense game towards the end.

Welome DanielM The forum is full of usfull info so enjoy!

As for the game i was soo close to posting on here seeing as Kris id the only Swedish person i know (except Sven!) To remind him how victorious we were.

How wrong was i sad.gif SOOO SSOOOO bad at set pieces we threw it way yet the first half we had it.
Kris England will beat the Swedes aprently its 30 odd years since we did! Which means i was 4!

Well you have got a point there, I'm currently not too much into football - even though I used to enjoy things like the world cup...

I guess the guitar has completely consumed me. >:<

Posted by: DanielM Jun 24 2006, 07:54 PM

that's not a bad thing smile.gif

the guitar is a true art form.

Posted by: Solo You Cant Hear It Jun 26 2006, 05:28 PM

Daniel is right!!!

ALL the guys do is kick some balls! Im not saying that gyuitar involves more skill (although it does laugh.gif )..but seriously...the men that play football are a bit too old to be dribbiling around everywhere... Ok...you got me....The World Cup is taking away precious practising time away from me...

(GO BRAZIL!!!!) :mad >:<

why thank you:)

while i enjoy watching the occasional match during the world cup, it confuses me how everyone gets worked up and excited to such an extent, and why fights break out, all because of a ball being kicked about over some grass.

P.S sorry if im ranting today really is not a good day.

Posted by: Norven Jun 26 2006, 11:49 PM

I´ve been playing football about 7 years, but when i got 2 injuries i decided to stop football and I found a new friend a "Fender squire stratocaster" :>
Btw I watch nearly every match in the world cup.

yes I also enjoy occasional "high quality" game. I find it very hard to sit at someone's house and scream my lungs off... Just doesn't feel natural. Anyway, I guess I am the problem... sad.gif smile.gif

yes..totally agree with kris on this one...

It's one of my pet peeves when some 1 gets too involved in the game and jsut stays yelling at the screen. But some ppl actually do get an adrenaline rush from whatching football on TV  laugh.gif

Hey Guys, I'm new here so I'd thought i'd drop a few lines to say hi. I'm a 26 years old guitarist from Venezuela, who has been playing for almost 9 years, but still stuck on my old same old stuff. Even though I'm not a frequent blues listener, I would like to add a bigger piece of the blues to my style, along with some of my guitar hero's influence: Slash.

I currently play on a band in Catholic Church(for almost 4 years now every sunday at 10:30am), where people get their weekly dose of "Wows" from the fact that christian music doesn't have to be slow and mellow. :sun

Well, i guess i wrote a little to much for an intro....good luck with your world cup Teams!!! I'l stick with Brazil .. biggrin.gif
