Minor pentatonic is IMO the most useful scale to learn - it opens up the door to blues and rock.
But, Besip, don;t be impatient. You need to put a lot of work into playing the guitar, it is a lifelong quest. Don't be tempted to skip on the basics to be able to play something sooner, instead, accept that it will take time and be prepared to put that time in. Regarding your second question, there is no particular key that any type of music is played in. There are different scale types that are characteristic of different styles, but they will all use completely different keys. It is the scale families that are important to learn though. Don;t think in terms of learning A minor, think in terms of learning the minor scale. Once you have the boxes down, you just need to move them around to get the key you need. For instance, G minor is 2 frets lower than A minor. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

i'm wondering to know{if thats possible}which pentatonic minor is more usefuel here..im belive A-minor pentatonic but i'm not sure It doesn't matter. If you know A minor pentatonic (root on fret 5) you plan play the exact same think on the third fret and it's G minor pentatonic, or root on fret 12 and it's E minor pentatonic. Just learn the scale and then you can move it to any key you like, since it's the same for all keys. -------------------- My bands homepage

hey andrew--i'm trully know what you mean!!! I'M impatient for sure ok i'm will go onto pentatonic minor..my question has been more specific..actualy i'm expected that answer but i'm wondering to know{if thats possible}which pentatonic minor is more usefuel here..im belive A-minor pentatonic but i'm not sure the reason why i'm wanna know it is more to advantage to lear more stuff from start{more pick song rifs advantage} and about my second question i'm not sure but i'm think somewhere here on kirk hamlet lesson i'm belive kris say about e-minor like more usefuel scale on heavy metal..so thats why im asking It really doesn't matter - if you can play A minor you can also play E minor if you have learnt at least one box there is no real way of saying what key most songs are played in, its the scale type that is important, not the key, so that means you need to know Major or Minor, not A or E. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

and about my second question i'm not sure but i'm think somewhere here on kirk hamlet lesson i'm belive kris say about e-minor like more usefuel scale on heavy metal..so thats why im asking I think Kris must have meant that E minor pentatonic is a popular scale in that specific key for metal. One reason is that you can strum and dampen the open E string a lot for gallop rhythm or whatever. A minor Pentatonic is also quite popular. (it has a lot of different chord positions within in reach, both open and barré. You will notice when you get more experienced) -------------------- My bands homepage
