We walked on the sidewalk.
Halfway between recklessness,
Halfway between passion.
Divided by those yellow road lines.
Altered by those red stop signs.

Once that car came around that corner.
I finally knew.
Those were the headlights of hell.
Glaring blankly at you.
I tryed to pull you back,
But I didnt have time to react.
I blame myself.

I watched you die tonight.
That drunk driver just kept driving.....farther and farther away.
I watched you gasp for air.
I called for help.
But noone was there.

I wish it was me.
That died tonight.
I wish I was the one that was hit,
By those cold cold lights.
I'd give up my life for you.
Who knows,
Maybe I'll be seeing you soon.

Was it all just a scary dream ?
Or am I still envisioning those endless beams of light.
From last night.
When you died next to me...

Tommorow I will wake up.
Look at my car,
Look for my missing girl.
And I will think that none of this is real.
Little do I know.

It was me behind that wheel.

Really good man, I liked the twist at the ending, I actually wasnt expecting it. It reminds me a bit of the movie The Machinist, which I love. Keep it up.
