The going rate for an EVH stage used Iconic guitar is starting at $120,000. This does seem a bit nuts at first but this is a real EVH built, stage used guitar. It's iconic. It will only go up in value over time. It may be worth millions at some point. There were only 5 of these ever built and it was used on the 1984 tour run.

Do you think it's wrong to sell off bit like this instead of giving them to a museum or hard rock cafe or something like that? Some people are saying its just wrong to let items like this drift in to private collections while others say that's ridiculous and that the money should benefit his estate and family.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

So... you re asking me If I think People can do what ever they want with their property.. a...... Ya. Only in countries alike do people feel entitled enough to tell other people what to do with their property. I am glad someone sold it , and I am glad someone bought it because it was worth that amount to them, plus , it is right handed wink.gif who cares

I woulda figured $250,000 at least. It's an actual evh owned and played axe.
Though I disagree with certain predatory capitalist practices, buying and selling privately owned goods is fine by me.

Somebody got a great deal. And I don't even consider for a second that's it's somehow wrong for it to be sold privately.

I tend to agree smile.gif Its a personal item and gone to a collector as it should imho. It's in the hands of someone who will cherish it. I do hope the estate donates one to the smithsonian or something smile.gif If it goes up again in a few years it could double or triple!

I hope we can start importing real cuban cigars soon smile.gif Seems silly that we can't? Along the lines of guitar auctions, 3 JASON BECKER axes went for $230,000 and are with huge fans of Jason, who I hope make some cool vids with them as I'd just like to see them in action. They can do whatever they like of course, but I think it would be very cool to have great players do Becker/Cacaphony covers/inspired tunes using these classic guitars. Just something I'd love to watch smile.gif

Herman Li and Bumblefoot were on hand. It's a fundraiser so it's going for a good cause.
