Hey guys,

Question - So I was playing my amp yesterday and all of the sudden the volume decreased and wont turn up anymore. Both amp channels are working but at a significantly reduced volume. I tried changing out guitar cables. I checked it this morning too and still the same issue. Do you guys know what the problem might be? I bought the preamp brand new and only have had it for a month. Any clues? Is this related to the tubes?

Greetings to all..

So I am having a little issue with order of effects. I see different suggestions and advice though the various threads here but still having some problems. Between really loud hums to completely muddling the guitar signal to were the sound is garbled. Here is what Im running in order through a Peavey 6505+ through the effects loop - ISP Decimator>Maxon OD9>Digitech RP 500 (used primarily for Chorus and Delays with no amp simulations). Ive have tried various combination's of order to no avail from rp500>OD9>Decimator too taking the noise reducer out of the chain and putting it in front of the amp. What do you guys think? Maybe the cables? Im stumped. Im also a little dissapointed with the Maxon OD9, I keep the gain way down low because the distortion you get out of the Peavey is freakin outstanding but the pedal is changing the tonality of the distortion. The idea was to get some added warm tone but to my ears it reshapes the distortion into a different sound were as the 6505+ gives you a very heavy driven crush you sound. Dont know if that makes sense.

Greetings,

Hello everyone, my name is Robert Kent and it is my pleasure to meet everyone here. I've recently discovered this site and all of its great resources. I'm 35 years old and from Houston, Tx, and just recently got back into playing guitar. Guitar has always been one of those things that bring balance to my life, when things might not be going right I can pick up a guitar and it seems to put me back on track. I never progressed previously to any sort of competent level past chord playing and entry level scales but now I want to get serious. I would always get frustrated because I wasn't progressing or learning fast enough. I want all that to change. My biggest issue is focus, I seem to always want to jump around while trying to learn. I would see something cool and want to learn it. The problem with that is there is so many cool things out there it doesn't allow one to become structured and disciplined with jumping around so often. So here I am today. Currently Im working on fretting and picking hand coordination. Still struggling alot here but I know it takes consistent practice and time. Im impatient which is part of my issue. biggrin.gif

Anyway some of my favorite bands currently are Evergrey, Primal Fear, Symphony X, All that Remains, Arch Enemy and old Manowar. Again, Im glad to be here and look forward to learning.
